stop playing to the place while on vacation was looking for a nice home cooked breakfast type meal asean diner type feel. seemed like some places we're either closed or closed for good. the hotel I had stayed at mentioned a place but it did not seem to be open so we ended up driving down the strip. located on the left side of the road heading towards the end of the White mountain highway rd. they have an outside seating area deck and dine in.
The place seemed packed with people standing outside of the door even. So I had asked about outside seating. The girl mentioned that there was a reservation list and that I would have to wait 15 some odd minutes to get on that list then wait to be called. I did not like the sound of that however I understand the place was fairly busy seemed like a decent amount of parking. I said to my buddy who didn't seem to want to be around too many people and wait and obviously this place is good or there wouldn't be tons of people here waiting. He would have suggested McDonald's i laughed. so I had remembered in Maine they are doing a lot of curbside pickup. so I figured if I could not get inside maybe I could do curbside pickup as I really wanted a nice waffle or pancake maybe some eggs I wanted a nice normal breakfast Nothing super vegan fancy ingredients you never heard of just plain breakfast.
So i called up asked if i could get an order for curbside pickup the girl said they could ask they had to talk to a boss or the owner first and i said id like just a couple breakfast sandwiches and some hot coffee they said no problem.
We parked and waited about 5 minutes girl came out with to-go containers and cups of coffee. We ordered bacon breakfast sandwiches on a bagel. That breakfast sandwich was one of the best ive ever tried or ate. The bacon seemed of good quality fresh flavor full The bagel was of good quality too the portion was very decent came with some home fries well worth the stop only thing was i like my fried egg slightly yolky i know that way is alil bit messy but i suppose you could ask.
I would definitely go back. I would like to try lunch or dinner next time I imagine that would be very good also.
I am sure someone will suggest some other places or place but they might not even be open anymore or hardly so dont overlook this place. Even though I wasn't willing to stand in line and wait around they still took care of me and i still tipped the girl and I was able to enjoy my breakfast out...
Read moreBeen visiting NH for 15 years and never have eaten at Banners. Until, I met Bob the owner down by the Albany covered bridge and started chatting about the scenery. he had mentioned he owned Banners restaurant and has been there for 38 years. He said all his food is homemade and his chef was brilliant with his hands. Now, being a retired chef myself for 25+ years I was curious. I told him me and my wife would pop in and give him a try. We got to the place for breakfast during the week so as would not be to crowded like the weekends. Went in and looked around, the place and motif was very clean and country like. Very nice, so far. We sat down at a 4 top and ordered coffee while we looked at the menu. Coffee was just ok, not terrible but not very good. The menu was full and had a variety of choices and prices were on par, basic breakfast and lunch menu. I had noticed in the menu he had corned beef hash and eggs. It was an eggs benedict but instead of Canadian bacon they used hash. I remembered what Bob had said so I wanted to try and see if it was true. I ordered the plate but made sure the hollandaise sauce and hash was on the side, just so I could eat it alone to get a real taste from it. Food came out rather prompt which is good, but when the waiter put my plate down I could see my eggs were on the side and the H-sauce was covering the hash, Right away points were lost. I dipped my finger in the H-sauce to taste and I new it was either knorr's or some other packaged pre-made sauce. I found a piece of hash that was not covered and tried it and had to spit it into a napkin. It was homemade but it was not very good. I tried one homefry which was real potatoes but it was tasteless and half cooked. I told the waiter to take it back and that I didn't want anything else. 5 min's later he brought me another plate that I did not ask for, sent that back too. Sat there while visiting a friend for about an hour and not once did Bob come over to see what he could do or ask what was wrong. All in all it was a typical breakfast place but nothing special like Bob had sold it as down by the river that day. I will say this, they do have country biscuits and gravy on the menu which I haven't seen on a breakfast menu in 30 years. (but the waiter told me the gravy is...
Read moreIf you’re looking for a breakfast spot that delivers both comfort and flavor, Banner’s is a place you don’t want to miss. From the moment I walked in, the cozy atmosphere and welcoming service set the tone for an excellent meal. The menu had plenty of tempting choices, but I went with their Irish Eggs Benedict, a fresh glass of orange juice, and a waffle on the side—and it turned out to be one of the best breakfast decisions I’ve made in a long time.
The Irish Eggs Benedict was absolutely outstanding. Perfectly poached eggs sat on top of hearty corned beef and toasted English muffins, smothered with a rich and velvety hollandaise sauce. The balance of flavors was spot-on—the savory corned beef paired beautifully with the creamy sauce and runny yolks, making each bite comforting yet indulgent. It’s a dish that truly stands out from the usual Benedict options you see elsewhere.
To complement the meal, I had a fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was crisp, refreshing, and full of natural sweetness. It’s the kind of detail that really makes a difference—you could taste that it wasn’t just poured from a carton.
And then there was the waffle—fluffy on the inside, golden and slightly crisp on the outside. It was served warm and was absolutely delicious, the perfect mix of texture and flavor. Whether you enjoy it plain, with butter and syrup, or topped with fruit, it’s the kind of waffle that makes you want to order a second one to go.
Overall, Banner’s exceeded my expectations. The food was fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. It’s the kind of spot that reminds you how great breakfast can be, and I’ll definitely be...
