The laundry facilities have been out of service for some time with no estimated fix date. There is a laundromat not too far away, in town, if you have a vehicle to get there. One of the main bathhouses has a sign that says no hot water so prepare for a longer walk to a more crowded bathhouse. The bath houses were cleaned fairly regularly but I’d say it was about 50/50 whether the floor would be dirty or not, and whether there would be hot water or not. And this was during the week with many empty spots still waiting to be filled. The pool closed early almost every day of our stay. The girl watching over that area didn’t seem to be too sure what the hours would be during our stay. It rained lightly during our stay, and having seen other reviews about flooding I was a bit nervous. The roads did fill with water but the campsites were unaffected. You can do a short tube from the “no dog” beach to the “dog allowed” beach on the river which is fun for the kids. Walmart is a 5 minute drive for any forgotten essentials and food. I heard they recently got bought out by a big corporate entity.. that is likely the reason for the slew of communication issues we encountered during our stay.

Eastern Slope Campground has a few positives, starting with the people. The staff were kind, helpful, and clearly care about the campground. The facilities were clean, and the river access was a nice touch on a hot day. That said, if you're hoping for a peaceful tent camping experience, this may not be the right fit. The campground felt more like a busy roadside stop than a quiet retreat. Car traffic was especially noticeable at night, with headlights shining through the trees and engines running late. Campfires often burned past midnight, and there didn’t seem to be much enforcement of quiet hours. In a tent, the noise and light are hard to ignore. A camper might make it more manageable. The playground was minimal, with just a few swings and a plastic slide better suited for a backyard. The pool is very small, and the firewood for sale was overpriced and had mold on it. Overall, my kids enjoyed the visit, and that’s what matters most. Still, we’ve camped at well over 100 different locations, and this one is not in our top 10. I’m not comparing it to resort-style campgrounds either, just standard family-friendly spots. This one fell short.

I will start with the good. This is close to town so if you forget anything it’s like a 5 minute drive. The wooden canopy on our 2 sites were in good condition. Their store has about everything you might need. The sites are a good size. It is family friendly in the sense that there wasn’t any loud obnoxious groups. We enjoyed tubing on the river. The only bad part was when the people from the Saco River came by, usually very drunken and annoying. The river was low during our visit, so we couldn’t go as far as we wanted. Now, the not so good. The bathrooms were dirty, even if you went right after they clean, the showers were gross. The sites are a bit close together. The pool is small. Not every site had the canopy. I did have to interact with the staff and it was hit or miss. Some were super nice and helpful and others were a bit short. They do monitor the grounds constantly so that can be good or bad depending on you. We personally didn’t mind. Overall it was say it was a good visit.

Hi Everyone! I stayed at this campground from 8/9/21 to 8/13/21. I am giving the campground 3 stars because of some issues. One, the bathrooms were absolutely dirty, this is bathroom number 3. Bugs and cobwebs in the toilet and shower areas. For a day the women's side had NO toilet paper so this is how we know it was definitely not cleaned daily. Plus, with the Delta variant running rampant the bathrooms should have been cleaned a lot. In the showers the drain was loose in both showers on the men's side and the floors were a mix of cement and broken/ missing tile covered with a rubber mat, maintenance issue. The lights in the toilets went off in the daytime in both men's and women's sides. The store looked okay but their rec room needs some TLC. The video games are from the 1990's and most are missing parts or don't work fully or just don't work. The laundry is located here also and found out the dryers don't work. They run but don't dry and we check to make sure the lint screen was clean. Means there is probably some blockage in the vent pipe. Washer did work correctly. The single bathroom there was dirty and smelled like sewer. The main road has many potholes and was very bumpy. We had neighbors who drank way to much and were loud past quiet time. We had one night of quiet at 10pm because it started to rain, TY rain! People were riding their bikes way past dark and one almost got hit by a car as he didn't have any lights on his bike. We have two kids who went to bed way before 10pm. (Can't blame the campground on the noise but they are suppose to have on site security, who should tell kids to stop riding their bikes after dark. So, why can they not drive around after 10pm to make sure everyone is following the rules?)

Now the good. The river was nice. They beach was kept clean. The campsites was clean when we got there. The playground was good and seemed like nothing was broken, just could use a paint job. Overall the campground its self was in good condition other than...

Nice location on the water but everything else was deplorable! The management & staff are condescending, contradictory & rude. Nosey staff on golf carts constantly perusing your site with random reasons multiple times in a day. I came here a few weeks ago with my son, bf, dog- a 6 yo Doberman. Never did anyone say anything about breed restrictions the entire time. Anyway, we stayed 2 nights that weekend with the dog & not a single person mentioned she was not allowed. 2 weeks later I tried to book for my sons birthday, he turns 12 today & we wanted him to choose what he wanted. He said to go back to this place so we tried to make it happen. This is when it got really bad. When I tried to book they said, o the people with the Doberman! Um well yes. Well she's not allowed here. Now my son has severe ADHD, you try explaining why his dog suddenly cannot be there for his birthday. I simply tried to talk to the staff on the phone, calmly, why wasn't this brought up before? Even in the confirmation it said Doberman pincher. I brought the rabies sheet & everything. She became very rude to me & said her manager needed to call me back. When she called me it was run around about the dog even after I said fine, let's just book it. She was seconds from hanging up on me. Changing her mind about booking us because I stated that I would be writing a fair review about this incident. She replied, if you're going to slander us we aren't going to honor your reservation. I explained that it wouldn't be slander if it was truth. Had to practically beg her to book, she required 3 days even though we were only staying 2. That's 2 sites around 300$. Monday we saw the weather & became concerned. Hail, etc. Knowing how they handled the flood weeks prior we didn't want my sons birthday ruined. I was told a manager would call me, never did. So today I tried again for some type of refund since we were worried we'd have to leave. She was rude as usual & nothing came of it. I told her I'd be writing...

I was very excited about the vacation to the White Mountains, they are so beautiful and so much to do and visit. The two weeks we stayed at Eastern Slopes made it very easy to see all of the attractions we wanted to see, great location! The campground was a mess from day one, we checked in and they really didn’t provide any directions to the site, however, they were very nice and polite. We got to our site that was supposed to be 32’ 5th wheel friendly, the only way I could reach the electric and water hookups was to move the picnic table and fire ring out of the way and park my rig diagonal across the site in between the trees, I was not happy. It was under the pine trees and not only did I not get satellite connection but also had pitch everywhere. The site was more of a tent camping site and not RV but the price was up there like an RV resort. The person in the office that I talked to was very helpful and trying to get me a more suitable site, which she did for most of the trip. She was great! If you are at this campground and it rains, know that you will be washed out for several days for each rain event. We could not enjoy our site for most of the stay. People were very loud and well past the quiet time. Others have said the bathhouses were new and clean, I guess their expectations are lower than mine. They were clean though for a campground. The only amenities to speak of is the river, as long as you get nice days it is nice. I have to speak about the roads throughout the campground, they are a mess. When you turn off of 16 into the campground there is a pot hole that could swallow your truck, be careful. The rest of the roads all throughout the campground are very very bad, and most of the time flooded so your rig and your vehicle are a complete mess your entire stay. I give this place a 2 total and the only reason it isn’t a total failure is the location and the youn lady in the office that...
