I don't know how this restaurant garnished a 4.4 rating, but giving it a 2 is generous. I stopped by and ordered chili Verde to go. It took about 12 minutes, which is very reasonable. The price was reasonable also and about average. However, the Verde was not chunks of pork, as it should be, but sort of shredded up and there was not really any Verde sauce visible. It was extremely salty and difficult to eat. The refried beans were not very good and the rice was so-so. It also had green peas in it for some ungodly reason and they looked shriveled up like they were old. The salsa isn't really salsa, but a watery concoction without any texture and no spice at all to it. It is really pretty much like tomato juice. Having lived in LA for 26 years before moving here, I know a bit about how good Mexican food is. This isn't it. (See the comparison photo for real chili verde)

A quaint little place with fast friendly service and delicious food. Tio's is your typical small, maybe family-owned Mexican restaurant. There's the usual Mexican inspired decorations, spanish music in the background and all the foods we know and love are on the menu (photos included). However this is the first time I've seen a drive-thru at a Mexican restaurant. Yeah, you will see this at some of the chain restaurants but I don't consider that Mexican. This made me wonder if the food was precooked, but nevertheless it was still good. There was nothing that stood out as exceptional and that's the reason I gave it four stars instead of five. I would recommend it if you're in the mood for Mexican food, there won't be any surprises.

I was very surprised with not only the prices but Aldo the amount t of food that we received. My husband got the beef chimichangas, and I got the make your own combination plate and you must choose four items to build your plate so I choose a hard taco, Chile relino, tostada, and chili con queso covered in a white cheese sauce on top. It was so good. It took a lot longer than it should for the waiter to finally come and take our order but other than that it was really good food, and it came out hot and delicious and the prices were absolutely fantastic also. We had a great date night and I can't wait to go back and try some more soon!!!

It was OK food. Service terrific and super fast. There was one thing that was kinda uncomfortable going on the whole time though. A girl, waitress? She was who brought us chips and seated us...and the rest of time we were there she stood on far side of the place and watched us the entire we were there. Very odd and didn't understand why she was over there posted up watching us. She seated some others who came in but right back to the fishbowl show to resume watching us eat. Was just strange way she was there. Almost like she was waiting for us to go so she could have our table. There was 3/4 of the tables unoccupied by customers, so plenty of places to seat folks. But yet she stayed at her spot and watched us the whole time! Maybe she was just bored and likes people watching, idk. But it had us not wanting to enjoy the meal and we got boxes for our food and got ot of there, not really getting to enjoy the experience of eating at a restaurant! She coulda went 2 more feet backward to be hidden with rest of the staff and a partition split the room up to be a bit more out of immediate view, but I don't think she paid any thought to our comfort while dining. Nobody wants a person hovering them when they are trying to dine! Take a hint from rest of the staff. They were the ones who waited on us and took orders and brought the food out. And want away so we could be left alone to eat it! Still around to refill or see if needing anything else. But not staring us up and down as we ate. Kills the dining experience, that's all. Rest of service was great. Just the girl kinda ruined it and we felt need to get the hell...

My daughter and I had a nice lunch and got behind two elderly men, probably in their 80’s trying to check out. One of the men was trying to argue with the cashier about how much he was charged, but the elderly man wasn’t irate or anything…when a very large man, I’m assuming a manager or the owner, walked up behind the cashier and told the older gentleman to “…get out of here with that bullshit. We didn’t overcharge you, man!” He never tried to talk to the man calmly to find out exactly what his complaint was, he just kept telling the elderly man several times to “get outta here with that bullshit! The customer isn’t always right!” So, the elderly man asked how he wanted to handle things “Do you want to go out in the parking lot or what?” And, the manager actually said “Yeah, let’s go!” I honestly thought I was going to have to call the cops because the manager/owner was about to beat the crap out of an elderly man. It was the most outrageous and unprofessional thing I’ve ever seen or heard and I’m from Memphis, so I’ve seen a lot of crazy things… The poor elderly man came to his senses, because he finally just said he’d pay them, but he wasn’t ever coming back and left. Then, the guy just stood there laughing about it…. It takes a pretty small little insecure man to think it’s funny that he cursed out and threatened to beat up an elderly person. I was floored, so I just paid...
