I took my 10 year old son here to dine in because its one of his favorite places he and his grandfather order take out from almost weekly when my son visits him every Monday for their "dinner dates". I haven't dined here in years but have gotten lucky with whatever leftovers my son has brought home from ordering in with his grandfather which is usually pizza and garlic rolls-delicious! So anyway, we decided to dine in as it was getting late in the night and neither of us had eaten dinner yet. Upon arrival we were seated immediately And greeted by our waitress, Maria (according to the name on the receipt, at least). She was phenomenal as far as answering any and all questions I had regarding the menu such as whether or not to go with the linguine with clams in white or red sauce (i took her advice on the white sauce which deep down, I was hoping she would suggest) and sure enough it was absolutely delicious! My son had the spaghetti and meatballs off the children's menu and both our dishes were great portions....we each had more than enough to take home for lunch the next day...(who am I kidding? I ended up finishing mine as a midnight "snack"). Before leaving, to our surprise, the owner let me son choose any dessert which he gave us on the house! Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to see the options because he went up to the case himself and picked out the chocolate cheesecake which was absolutely to die for and I ended up calling in to the restaurant the next two days to order just that! Again, the portion was HUGE! When I ended up calling in the next night for it, I spoke to Hailey who told me they had one (yet again, ginormous) slice left which I had delivered to my house this time. Fast forward the next day, I called again and once again spoke to Hailey who remembered me but unfortunately did not have any left that night but offered to take my phone number to call me the next time they had it which she absolutely DID stand by her word and sure enough I got a call the very next night (but I Unfortunately missed the call while my phone was charging and by the time I realized, they were about to close so I didn't want to be that person that placed an order right before closing...you know, that same person I had been the two nights prior š¬). I want to personally thank our waitress from the first night who provided top notch service (whom I believe was named Maria according to the receipt), The owner who provided excellent and amazing tasting food as well as providing us with that free cheese cake dessert that I now am literally addicted to, and also Hailey who was as sweet as can be on the phone and offered exceptional service by offering to call me to help aid my addiction and actually stood by her word and DID in fact call. I have lived right behind Vitas for 23 years now and although my family has ordered their pizza delivery a bunch of times, I had absolutely no idea what I had been missing out on until dining in and ordering their more authentic Italian dishes!

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI felt so disrespected tonight at this establishment by the server AND the manager. We come here alot for the cheesecake, owner always nice, he was not there. If you don't write the food order down, 2 of us, fine, but get the order right, side salad, NO onions, NO olives, with olive oil isn't that hard. We had to ask for refills, unattentive and even touched our side plate with her Long Red Nails. The food was just ok, lasagna very sweet, Veal Francise not tender. But the main problem, was we ordered the "keto" cheesecake and they are always usually great, but this one was dry and the chocolate on top was actually crusty. We took 1 bite and it was old. We told the server, she just took it away, brought the check, and charged us! When I said I am sorry I am not paying for this, she looked at us and didnt say anything, finally walked away. Brought the check back with the cheesecake off. BUT, big but, I noticed everything was a little more expensive than the menu, so I walked up to the host stand I read the menu, we were OVERCHARGED on the cup of soup, both of our entrees, and for spinach instead of noodles, so I asked for the manager. Younger guy behind counter clean shaven, I told him about being overcharged and he says and I quote " Oh yeah those menus are not the right price, we just give them to customers to order, the right price is online now"! I said you can't charge people different prices than the menu you gave us without telling us!!!!!!! He just looked at me like I'm supposed to say ok, I will pay more than your menu says...NO!!! He tried to even keep the charge on there when I said I worked in Restaurants for 12 years and never have I ever seen this! I'm not paying extra! He should have just said sorry and I will take it off. He just said your new total is $36, took the money off and I paid, even left a 15% tip. I would like the owner to see this and know what happened so he can contact me! You have been overcharging EVERY person who orders off the Large Black menus, this has to be illegal and just bad business for such an established place! Man what a horrible experience tonight was, our 1st date night in months....2 stars was because they usually have great cheesecake, but 1st time eating dinner here and prob the last. Write down your tables freaking orders, it's not that hard!!! Man what...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy wife and I ended up here on a Friday night at 8 pm because we were dropping off my daughter at a friend's birthday dinner so we decided to stay and eat. I know, busiest time and day. The "pretend host" said it would be 15 minutes and offered us a complimentary glass of wine while we waited. Not too shabby right? That's where it all went downhill. Then he proceeded to say that to get this "complimentary wine" we had to go to the back of the restaurant and find "Eric the Manager" and ask him for it. Why didn't he do it? Weird but I played along. Found Eric and asked for the free wine. Eric said "I'll be right with you". Went back to the front and commenced waiting. My wife and I noticed that three tables in the restaurant were empty but had not been cleared of dirty dishes from the previous parties. Why 15 minutes if three tables were empty? After about 12-13 minutes of further waiting the tables were still empty & dirty and no "complimentary wine" yet from Eric. We also noticed that several of the guests that were already seated were not being served. The place was a disorganized mess. We decided to leave and advised the pretend host. Immediately Eric showed up and offered us a complimentary glass of wine. No thanks! I need to add that Eric was very nice, but to little to late. As we were leaving the three tables were still empty & dirty. Only reason I gave Vita Italian two stars is because of the following: First Star: My friend at work gets take-out from Vita's all the time and said the food is pretty good. Second Star: My daughter said that while she was at the birthday dinner the staff at Vita's was nice and treated her well. She also said that the food was very good. Would I go back? Not for all the pretend complimentary wine in the world! There are too many very good Italian restaurants between my house and Vita's to ever go back. P.S. "Pretend Host" because three different staff were playing the role depending on who was closest to the front door. All three offered us...
