Captains Cabin Bar — Restaurant in Coos Bay

We were recommended to come here for breakfast on the weekend only, 3 out of the 4 tall tables were dirty. It was 9am in the morning. Our order was 41.00 plus a tip 2 half orders of biscuits/gravy that was pretty salty 1 with 2 eggs that came with 1 egg and 1 with bacon to go , got it for my son he took a few bites and threw it out, and 1 eggs Benedict served with lunch meat ham, the sauce didnt have any tang to it that gives it that bang. Being my birthday it just wasn't great as they were highly recommended. The bartender asked me if I wanted more coffee as I said please and she never returned. Yes we can speak up for ourselves, however we were there at 9am and just a few people at the bar, so there wasn't a rush. It's not about coming back to try it again. 16.50 for a half order of biscuits/gravy with 2 eggs? While my sons was the same with 1 strip of bacon for 8.00, huge difference. Still trying to figure...

We had to take our dog to emergency vet while visiting family near Coos Bay. Since we had a 6 hour wait, we headed to this dive bar to watch sports while we waited.

Food is scratch-made and delicious. My husbands CFS was HUGe and out of this world. It’s a 10. I like that they have small meal options as well. Hub liked his Bloody Mary, but I just stuck with soda.

Many methamphetamines users frequent this bar and we definitely were cautious to not draw attention. One was even going in/out of kitchen and did not seem to be an employee based on him drinking at the bar on the patron side.

The female bartender was a bona fide Bee Eye Tee See H to a “regular” customer. That was a disturbing and entertaining interaction. She’s a wildcard for sure and I would not want to cross her. Service for us was...

Went for breakfast this morning. Have been wanting to try this place for a year. There were three tables ahead of us as we ordered. Two 2 tops and a 4 top. Food was arriving slowly. After 50 minutes I asked when our food might be ready. A snarky waitress replied that "This is a bar...and the cook only has a hotplate to cook on." When our food finally did arrive the potatoes o'brian were cold and dead. My eggs were not hot...my hamburger steak patty was hot, but grossly overcooked. My husbands food was the same..... I have worked in the bar/restaurant business many years.... My suggestion would be a smaller menu or an additional hot plate. ...Or get the snarky waitress to help out in the kitchen!
