I’ve been eating here since 1990. I eat here at 2-3 times a week. And I spend a lot of money there because the food is not cheap but I feel it’s worth it.The food is great and the portions are huge. The workers are GREAT and if it wasn’t for their genuine hospitality I would not patronize this place at all. The problem is the owner. He’s racist and rude. I knew it from day 1 but my dealings with him was minimal because he’s always there but most of the time his employees are at the register. This will be my very last time ever giving him a dime of my money. Because today he just showed his true colors with me. I order something that I regularly order and he told me that it didn’t come that way. You can get your food anyway you want as long as you agree to the upcharge. In my case, I wanted something least expensive than the way it comes but still didn’t mind paying an ypcharge for the inconvenience, besides I’ve gotten it this way for over 20 years. He yelled over the phone to me that he wasn’t going to argue with me and hung up. I came in specific to speak with him about his actions but not wanting to make a scene so I waited for customers before me to leave the counter. He got a call in order for the exact order I had and it was not a problem at all as I listen to it being placed. He then told the cook to bring my order which let me know he knew it was me on the other end of the phone-though he he hung up without getting my name or as I thought didn’t place my order. This man didn’t say Thank you or anything. So I addressed him immediately and he said you can take your business somewhere else if you don’t like it. He’s friendly and nice to every race except Black. And that usually doesn’t bother me but I think it’s time for something to be said and for him...
Read moreI heard about Coppell Deli back in the Before Time from a co-worker. Thing is, I couldn’t find it for the longest time. Finally, in a bout of frustration and resort, I finally found it. We arrived and ordered at the counter immediately. I ordered the Hickory Burger, Onion Rings, and a soda.
The onion rings were wonderfully crunchy, though I have to admit, they didn’t have as much flavor as I anticipated, they did actually have some there. There were no spices so most of the flavor was from the onions inside and the breading.
The patty was well done, thick and juicy with a great sear all around. Not salted well, though. The barbeque sauce was sweet and mild while the onion rings were similar to those on the side. Altogether the sandwich wasn’t amazing, but it was a great burger.
I think they have all of the makings of a wonderful restaurant; they should just take bigger risks with their seasonings.
In the end, I have to say that the restaurant is a great place to drop by for a bite but not for all the trouble I had finding it. If I worked in the area, I would definitely consider becoming a regular for their ample serving sizes and better-than-average fare. Given that I neither work nearby nor regularly visit Coppell, I will continue to seek a better burger elsewhere. 4/5

Read moreMy morning started out great being blessed to wake up to see yet another day. I have been delivering for Uber Eats for 5 months and this is the FIRST merchant that has disrespected me. The Manager was rude when I went to do a pick up the order and He talked to me like I was a child and even if I’m not a paying customer, I WAS NOT expecting that type of treatment especially on a beautiful Sunday morning. I love to dine out with my family, and I love to take pictures of everything we eat and post them on Google, Yelp, Instagram, FB and Twitter. I have been in Customer Service for over 20 years and I’ve never spoken to any of my Customers like that even when they were irate with our policies. I called the Manager and I told him that I did not deserve to be spoken to like that and that I didn’t appreciate it. I ended the call telling him that I will NEVER bring my family into his establishment. I was so upset that when I made my delivery, I broke down crying in the front of the customer. I couldn’t even hold it together. At that point, I was ready to throw in the towel with Uber Eats but I don’t work for him, I work for the Customers that make his company money. If that’s how a MANAGER treats people, I’m sorry for them and for him....
