I normally go to KH Donuts in Cove, but had heard great things about Top, so I wanted to try them. Went to the first location on 190 that was listed as Open on Google. It was closed down. So I made the trek to the second location on 1st Street. Walked in and was greeted. I asked for a dozen donuts and began picking out the donuts. The woman behind the counter (late 40s/early 50s) snapped at me, loudly saying "YEAH OKAY HOW MANY DO YOU WANT??!!" I was very surprised at her attitude. Also confused because I had just said a dozen, which means 12 in most places. I repeated myself and she sighed loudly. I apologized for possibly making her upset. I got the response of "yeah uh huh". I quickly chose the remaining # of donuts and paid. I had to ask for a receipt to which she rolled her eyes, and then she handed me a receipt with a sarcastic "have a great day". I understand that Sunday mornings are probably hectic for donuts shops, but I couldn't understand the...
Read moreOmg. I don’t know how I’ve never eaten here until today but I have been missing out. I’m not even a donut person but I was next door super early waiting on the gas station to open and noticed that not only were they open (and pretty busy for 5:30AM might I add), they had other things besides donuts! I got a ham and cheese croissant, a blueberry muffin, and an apple fritter. The croissant itself was warm, buttery and perfectly flakey and the ham and cheese inside were piping hot. The cheese was nice and gooey, and they use ham that is slightly thicker than a deli slice, which is the perfect ratio. The blueberry muffin was HUGE- super thick, fresh and moist. My breakfast finale was the apple fritter and holy FRITT it was so good. It was almost like funnel cake and apple pie had a baby. Slightly crunchy, but also delightfully doughy. That plus kind/warm customer service ensured that I will absolutely be...
Read moreI was there about an hour before closing, but the burrito, glazed doughnuts and kolache were all fresh and delicious. My 1st husband used to manage doughnut shops and get them back on their feet (kinda like Gordon Ramsey in kitchen nightmares-but he did 6-12 months rehabbing them-so I KNOW the difference between good doughnuts and crap ones). This shop serves the best doughnuts I've had in 3 years in Texas! They are a small out of the way shop with a drive thru. If you looking for fresh GREAT doughnuts, this is by far the BEST TASTING AND QUALITY you can get. I've tried the doughnut shops in Harker Heights, Killeen, Temple and Copperas Cove. If your not in The Cove...BELIEVE ME this shop is 100% worth the drive. Fortunately for me it's so close I walk to it. Absolutely Delicious products here. The service is upbeat and friendly. The place was...
