I had heard that this location had changed ownership recently, I drove right past Asian Star in leetsdale to go out of my way to coraopolis just to try the food with the new owner - big mistake ! Their food is more expensive and not nearly as good. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken and it was just mediocre, it lacked the normal spices and flavor - it tasted like everything was cooked in beef broth rather than being mildly hot and spicy like Kung Pao is supposed to be. It was even watery rather than saucy. I was asked if I wanted white rice or fried rice thinking I was being given a choice - they failed to mention the going with the fried rice would be at least $2 more. By the time I paid and left it was $17.11 with tax which makes it $4 and $5 more than most other places for food that was only substandard. Even the fried rice was not very good, it was basically just rice it was fried in a little oil - no flavor whatsoever and not at all like normal fried rice from anywhere else. This place was a huge and pricey disappointment. It was not at all of the quality it used to be war of the quality of the other local Chinese restaurants. I've had Chinese from all over the United States and this by far was the worst of all. Never again will I bother going there even if I was right there nearby - instead I would travel out of my way to leetsdale ambridge or five points because it would certainly be worth the trip. Anyone who claims this is really good Chinese food or worse yet the best or great obviously does not know good Chinese food - therefore no credibility and...
Read moreI was also told that they owed the old owner money, when I spoke to her, she told me to try their food, so I stopped in the other day. The lady in the front seemed to be having an off day and was not the nicest. I ordered chicken fried rice and General Tso chicken. The rice was okay, but I could genuinely make something better at home without a wok while watching a YouTube tutorial. The General Tso chicken was not as crispy as it used to be and I had a quite a few pieces that were more bread than chicken. If you enjoy the GENERIC Americanized Chinese food like China max or Panda express, then this is an okay place to dine. However, if you prefer better Chinese food, I'd drive 30 minutes down to Grand China Buffet which is where I will be dinning...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. Our egg rolls were served on a take out lid, when I asked for a plate, since there were two of us, the girl gave me a look, and brought out another take out lid. Our canned drink was put on the table, when asking for a glass to drink out of, we got the same look, and told no glasses just a straw. The food was ok at best, that is if you like your fried rice orange, Gen Tso chicked was more like Gen Tso batter, very little pieces and very little chicken. The price we paid for lunch I was expecting the food and service to be much better. Pretty sure this is a one time...
