Lovely little local eatery. I know so many go for the novelty of the brews. Which is really neat. Get the id bracelet and you're charged by the ounce. The bracelet activates the taps and tracks your pours. But really the food is so good. We had the bruschetta and fried green tomatoes. I had the OBX OJ to drink. And we got the pork belly Sammie, the catch of the day tacos, kids chicken fingers, and the far east burger. The appetizers were great. Really well done. The far east burger did a great job capturing the flavors of Korean food while still having a good burger. The tacos had tuna the day we went. It was fresh and well done. This is from someone who does not care for sea food. And the portions for the kids meal were plenty even for an adult. It would work for someone who is maybe looking for a more plain and simple dinner. Now the pork belly Sammie was so tasty. The sourdough was lightly toasted, well buttered, but not as much like sourdough as I was expecting. I was expecting more tang in the bread. The aoli was good but I personally would have loved a touch of heat to give the sammie just another layer of complexity. The pork belly was crisp and tasty and the arugula fresh. The fries were simple and excellently done. Servers were attentive and the place clean. The bathroom was very clean. This was an excellent stop on our little weekend OBX trip. I gave it four stars bc it's a very small place and it fills up fast. it's popular! So when all the tables are full it can feel a tad claustrophobic in there. But over all excellent place!

Off the Wall Tap House is tucked into the very right hand corner of the shopping center with Harris Teeter, in the town of Corolla North Carolina. They have created an immersive beer drinking experience by allowing patrons over the age of 21 to sample their many beer and brew selections (and ales, ciders, etc) by pouring their own beers from the wall of about 20 taps. A wristband activates the tap and tracks how many ounces you have consumed, which determines how much you will be charged. BTW, after about four beers you will be cut off and need to renew your wristband, to help keep your beer tab manageable. We visited during the Corona virus restrictions. They follow all of the state guidelines. The staff is very polite and the food offerings are very good too! We had some appetizers to pair with the beers. Go check it out, it was a fun and unique experience!

TLDR; Quick and friendly service, reasonably priced beer, great food, clean bathrooms. A novelty experience you won't regret! Went on Saturday right as they opened. The line was around the building but everyone was sat and the food only took about 20 minutes. Highly recommend the Larry's Lemonade Shandy. Also tried the Orange Crush IPA but it was bitter with barely a hint of orange. Tried three appetizers: the Roadside Tomato Bruschetta was really refreshing, the Crabby Seafood Pretzel was creamy and rich, and our favorite was the Pulled BBQ Chicken Nachos. They give you a bracelet that measures the tap wall by the ounce. The beer is reasonably priced and its fun to pour your own drink. We'll be coming back next year for the nachos and to try the burgers.

We didn't get very far into a dining experience at this place. My wife and I got to pour ourselves a beer, but barely drank any of them before our pretzel appetizer came. I took the first bite and tried dipping my bite in the "cheddar beer cheese" that the menu describes as coming with the app. The cheese sauce was clearly canned, and served cold! When I say cold, I mean refrigerated cold as I picked up the cup and could feel the cold coming from the bottom. We called the server over and she said it should be served hot. So how did that mistake get made? A clear recipe of theirs just became canned refrigerated cheese sauce. They couldn't even bother to heat the bit they served us in the microwave before serving it to us. That was the writing on the wall we needed to decide to cut our losses and just get up and leave. If a place advertisers something on their menu and can't produce it without telling you upfront, then have the gaul to serve you a canned product straight from the fridge it shows the attention to detail they promote. Dining in the Outer Banks is just one poorly run place after another, so this place fits that mold perfectly. Maybe it's because I work in the business, but just because I'm on vacation doesn't mean I'm ready to pay top dollar for sub par food that's basically fast food quality at 10x the price. "It should be hot". Words to live and die by, because if they can't bother to heat up cold cheese sauce before serving it who knows how close death could have been had we actually ate the app or...

Stopped here for lunch while visiting from Pennsylvania.

Self serve beer? Say whaaa??

It is true. There was a great selection of craft and macro beers to choose from. You are given a bracelet to wear. When you are ready to sample or drink a beer, you place your bracelet next to the beer label. A green light indicates the tap is ready to dispense. You then pour only what you want to drink, so if you want a sample just pulled pour that amount. If you want a full 16 oz beer, then you pour until the glass is filled.

The device in the bracelet monitors and measures how much you pour throughout the duration of your stay at the restaurant. When it is time to pay the bill, the receipt will indicate how much you poured and how much it cost. Different beers are priced differently per ounce. Miller Lite won't cost as much as a craft beer for example.

The food was fantastic as well. The staff was friendly and prompt. It was a warm humid day, so we were accommodated quickly with indoor seating.

If you are staying at the Currituck Club or close by, you must give this...
