Ono Hawaiian BBQ — Restaurant in Corona

Let me first start off by saying that I was really looking forward to Ono Hawaiian BBQ. I had recently visited the new location in Corona, Ca. The display of professionalism left a bad impression, the gentleman who is the manager was arguing with an employee, that could be herd in the front, as the employee was not understanding what the manager was trying to communicate in a sarcastic and belittling way. I don't know where he received training, but anyone could tell that is definitely not the way to communicate to any employee, regardless of what industry a person may be working in. The second incident happened on the same day. I went to put the drinks, that I had purchased in my car. When I went back inside to get my food the young lady would not give me my food. She continued to insist on holding on to the food because I did not have my receipt. When I told her, I could let her know what I ordered, she continued to be rude and not hand me the food that I had paid for and ordered. Now, let me state, I have learned my lesson in the past to never take my eyes off of my order, so I was not going to go to my car and get my receipt that was in the bag with my Hawaiian can drinks. After going back and forth, I finally told her she could ask the young gentleman who assisted me in taking my order. She then finally said, what did you order? I gave her a detailed list of my order and finally, my order was released. I must say when I left, I was extremely dissatisfied with not only the customer service but also with the way the manager spoke the employee. This was a clear indication of how the store is going to run and I do not want any part of that negative environment. Sorry for the negative review, I really wished it would have been a better experience, but unfortunately, it turned out to be something different. I hope that other customers have a better experience than I did and that management improves on the way to communicate and train the employee's that work at...

I've been a loyal customer of Ono Highway Grill at the 926 E Ontario Ave #102, Corona, CA 92881 location for years, often bringing my kids here after a long day at school to enjoy what used to be a warm, welcoming atmosphere and great food. Unfortunately, my experience tonight was nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share my disappointment.

I arrived around 8:30 PM and was met with rude and dismissive service from the moment I approached the counter. The lady who took my order acted like I was an inconvenience, barely acknowledging me. After placing my order, I was left waiting while a family who ordered after me received their food first. It was frustrating to see them being served promptly while my order was clearly being ignored.

When my food was finally ready, the staff just left it sitting on the counter, refusing to hand it over until I asked not once, but twice. The whole experience made me feel disrespected and unwelcome, which is heartbreaking considering this used to be a place I loved.

I understand that times are tough for everyone, but treating customers with such blatant disrespect is unacceptable. This incident has left a sour taste in my mouth, and I won’t be returning to this location anytime soon. I’ve had lunch here twice and really like it! It’s your typical Hawaiian chicken place but it has a nicer atmosphere than the one nearby. Nice decor and pleasant staff.

The combo meals are shareable which makes the price decent for lunch (or dinner ). They carry Coke products which is a plus for me. I’ve had the BBQ chicken and Katsu I like the teriyaki better than the Katsu sauce even for the Katsu.

The area where the sauces, sodas, and condiments are is a little awkward. It’s L shaped. Both times I’ve been there I’ve had to wait to get the teriyaki sauce while another customer is getting their drink (and not getting out of the way when done ). Please fill your cup and move out of the way to put on your lid. Thanks 😃

The meal includes 2 scoops of rice and Macaroni salad. You can get a green salad subbed for the Mac salad or the 2 scoops of rice for only .29 more. The salad is fresh and the dressing is good. A little more dressing would be nice.
