Big Sam's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

I come here every couple of weeks. The foods okay, but it’s just a sports bar. The atmosphere I suppose is the greatest part, not to discount the girls; they put on their show, convey a happy welcoming attitude but that’s all it is, so most interactions just seem apart of a show.

However, (I guess it’s been a couple of weeks now) there was a waitress, I believe her name was Sabrina and the last bit started with a Z or something like that. Nonetheless, this time I went, well, she made the experience a bit more honest. I get that most of the girls there don’t enjoy servicing most of the people coming in, frankly who would enjoy being stared down by the entire customer base, so by all accounts I understand the facade necessary to make a living. But, simply put, it was her, in the 45 minutes I spent sitting at my table that showed me what it meant to be strong and genuine.

Strong enough, to continue during a busy shift without letting it all go and genuine in the sense that the conversation was real, that interactions between stangers in a restaurant is not always fake. I guess in the end I just want to say thank you, whether she’d or anybody in the restaurant would see this; thank you for providing me an experience that’s rarely given today, especially in this food...

I was invited to Big Sam's for a celebration. While I hadn't been into Big Sam's in years, for obvious reasons, I decided to make an exception for our friend.

I ordered the cheeseburger and added avocado, for extra of course. When the burger arrived it had what looked like two thin slices of avocado, so I asked the waitress if I could get a little more. She went to ask the cook. He asked to see the burger because he didn't believe her, so she took the plate. She brought it back and said "manager said that's all you get, or we can remove it". Upset, I removed it for them and sent it back in a napkin. I then asked for the manager to come to the table. He, Casey was his name, arrived with that who cares look on his face. When I asked the manager if all I got was two tiny slices, he said "no you get three tiny slices" and walked off.

Instead of working with me on the lack of avocado, I got a bad attitude. Now I know why I refuse to eat here. Never again. I didn't hate the food, I hated the attitude and lack of customer service. Oh by the way Big Sam's, this is how you spell avocado. You might want to...

one of my good friends goes there almost every friday for Karaoke. Ive been there couple of times, but from my experience , the chicken wings are amazing, and the queso dip, their beer is not cold as I would like it to be, so I wont drink the beer, but even the drinks like rum n coke are very weak,hardly no liquor, the waitress forgot about us the whole time, but we made the best of it, but the service is not that great! but i can say the same thing about wal mart lol , now if Big Sam 's wants to be compared to the evil , crappy wal mart well then they will never change , but if they want to actually have good reviews they would change their whole management.. get new staff, new bartenders cause the girl they have there is very rude, and better cooks.. i cant believe knowing all the bad reviews u would think the owner would do something, but then again someone like me will end up going there again like a dummy, but its for a get together .. booooo but im getting the chicken wings ,. come on Big Sam's !!! i really, really, really , want to...
