El Nuevo San Blas — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

It’s Valentine’s Day around 6 PM in the afternoon no one is in the restaurant. The waitress me down facing the kitchen. Two waitresses were laughing uncontrollably at the kitchen’s window over what appears to be a salsa bowl uncovered. The cook was not wearing a mask either as he was passing to go plates through the window. The to go plates weren’t even closed as he too was laughing. In the middle of this pandemic I felt it very very unsanitary. Now I’m beginning to wonder just how much laughing spit was transferred into my little salsa bowl they brought me. Food is very, very good, however service is lacking. Went on 3 separate occasions and no matter how slow it was, waitstaff was practically non existent. Had to go find someone to get refills. Ordered extra tortillas as we got our food and as we were leaving at the end of our meal waitress finally walked up with the tortillas. We visited based on reviews. Was ok. Small place, getting refills was a challenge, flagging down our server. Food was ok. I had shrimp enchiladas, my husband had the parilla plate. He says it was OK.
