King Seafood — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

They say support small businesses owners. Why should I. Especially when they decline your form of payment. It shouldn't matter what form of payment you use. As long as it doesn't decline. As long as you understand there may be a service fee. As long as there is a sign posted that they do not accept Cashapp as a form of payment. As long as I can remember. I've ALWAYS used my cashapp card. I don't carry cash for obvious reasons. Well moving forward KingSeafood in Corpus Christi will never receive my patronage ever again🥃🥃💯🎯 I used to go to King Seafood like clock work. Today 05/30/2020. They just refused payment via cash app. Claiming that they use square which cash app is associated with square. I have Chase Bank as well. Nearly ALL businesses except King Seafood does not accept cash app. LORD and behold if I purchased my food online what LIE would they interject at that point in time. So today if I could give 0 Stars that's exactly what they would receive. Because I feel that was unprofessional of them not even to attempt to swipe my card before they refused it. So we are from Victoria, we tried to goto Boat & Net but sadly it was closed. Someone recommended this place so we went, first of all line was ridiculously long but surprisingly it moves very fast. Prices were as expected but honestly, for fast food I rather go eat at Long John silver's. The fish are no fillets they are practically Gordon's that you would buy at HEB. The shrimp also are not Gulf shrimp they're definitely Frozen butterfly panko crusted shrimp. The oysters were surprisingly tasty but very small, but they did give us 2 extra as the plate comes with 2. The fries were good but I mean you can't go wrong with waffle fries. The rolls were hard and thick. The tartar sauce was okay but it's no where near like Boat & Net, it has no pickle in it. The hush puppies were good. My mom got ONE blackened grilled Taco on a flour tortilla for $7. She said it was very mushy and the flour tortilla were not homemade. The people that are saying that this place is very good have to be employees because I'm sorry I hate to be negative Nancy but being from Victoria, it sucks to be on a trip and not be able to...

Very sad. King Seafood is still closed to dine-in customers, they said due to covid. (March 22, 2023...) And they are out of Drum. Very sad. When we were previously able to eat their fresh fish in their little restaurant, we enjoyed it very much. I would say it was a wonderful little local "secret" spot. But, today, No drum. And having to transport fried fish a long distance to home, to eat it, we elected to eat elsewhere, and hope to return when they are ready to serve customers there, or at least have drum. The food was good the last time we were able to eat it in their restaurant. Just too messy to eat in car. (word on pricing - it has increased. And if you need more than one allotment of a sauce, you are charged extra.) I suggest they open some outdoor tables, when warm like today, with plenty...
