I was in town from the 956 for a sold out Creed concert at American bank center and made absolutely sure to visit one of my favorite food spots while in corpus christi Tx. This was the third time I have visited and was very happy I did. I had the frumunder cheeseburger (double meat,chopped brisket, cheddar cheese+ pepperjack+nacho cheese with some fries + jalapeno bacon wraps and drink for lunch which was so delicious + filling and held me through the night even after the concert. I got to meet the owner who was friendly and very sweet to hand me a copy of his cousins CD (Chino 818). Don't let the tattoos scare you, he is a really cool kind vato who gives back to the community every year. Everyone was very friendly and attentive. After reading a negative review given to this establishment just for being closed for the owners attending their son's graduation, it fueled my fire to come try El Vago for the first time. Let me tell you, my husband and I were not disappointed at all! My brisket sandwich was full of flavor, the buns were nice and buttery, the brisket itself was full of flavor, it was tender and juicy. My husband's burger was made to perfection, it had a nice crisp edge and you can tell the beef is very fresh and not frozen. You can tell that love is definitely put into their food and they take time to make sure your meals are made to perfection. We will definitely be going back will honestly make this a regular visit because the food is soo great as was the customer service. If you've never tried El Vago, you're missing out.
