We came to the area for a family vacation. This local brewery popped up on our search of things to do and because we were here for about a week, we wanted to fit it in. We are extremely glad we did.
We were greeted immediately upon walking in. We told them we were from out of town and it was our first time here. They asked us a couple if questions and gave us some samples. Our first round included the Kombucha (for my wife) and Summer Stout for me. The Stout was very smooth and drinkable. Our second round was the Summer in wHeat (a Hefe) and Sun Burnt Blonde. The Blonde was the first spicy beer I have ever really enjoyed! Most of the time I don't think spicy works for beer and I don't often drink blondes but the cayenne and chipotle did very well. It had a kick but also a great taste. While the Stout was by far my favorite, I would definitely drink the blonde again.
Their operation was modest but they have a good thing going there. Inside was simply decorated and clean (wouldn't want to contaminate the beer!). Seating was mostly small tables and picnic tables. They also have seating outside (more picnic tables). There was also a foosball table and bounce house for the kids (maybe adults too). I have no idea if this is a regular thing but was very cool none the less.
As I understand it, they have a rotation of food trucks (one per day) that park there. This time it was Iron Pinãta. We snagged some Pinãchos and enjoyed our beers. The kids got some Dublin, Texas sodas.
It seems to me that it is a rather kid and family friendly place. There was a good mix of families, couples (young and old), and friends. Many seemed to be regulars. All were happy to be there. We got there around 4p on a Saturday and it wasn't crowded. So if you have kids, don't worry, bring them. No one acted like they had a problem with it.
Bathrooms were clean. The breeze out back was cool. Again, the staff was very friendly. They acted like they enjoyed being there.
Definitely come and check out Lazy Beach Brewery! We hope to make it a regular stop when whenever we come back. Hope we can start getting some of their stuff in Fort Worth!

Read moreI've always been a fan of Lazy Beach's sandwiches. It saddens me that they now have brunch till 2 PM and don't serve sandwiches before that time.
Sandwiches are primarily a lunch item and are a perfect pair to a beer.
Since we were there, we decided to give their brunch menu a try. Our BLT + egg (they call Belt) and french toast both came out cold. It's obvious it was sitting at the counter for some time, due to the short staff (only saw the waitress/bartender & cook).
Given the brunch options on Yorktown and the quality, I don't know why they made this move. Sadly it will keep us from coming back as we will seek out other places that serve sandwiches (or BBQ) during lunch.
Edit: Per response of owner, I'm happy to hear that the brunch was just a special menu. However, we did ask the waitress if it was only for Mother's day and she said that they would only have brunch till 2 moving forward.
Additionally, we already waited for quite a bit for our food (when it was delivered cold). We weren't really in the mood to have them remake...
Read moreThis was a great local brewery in Corpus. It’s in an area that looks more like warehouses but it is both a brewery and a cafe. I like hazy or New England IPAs so I was recommended Comet Crush and really enjoyed it. Comet Crush had a clean finish and good hoppy kick. My partner enjoyed the Great White Wit which was a hazy IPA that had a citrus finish. You order your drinks and food in the back outside and then choose any seat you want. The have more seating outside than inside but we were able to find a table inside that was a high top. They have a mix of low and high tops inside and mostly picnic tables outside. If you sit inside, you’ll be right next to the open kitchen. I had an avocado and sour cream chicken wrap that was delicious and had lots of fresh veggies. My partner had a turkey Ruben without the sauerkraut that he gobbled up too. Overall the staff were incredibly friendly and the decor was nice and beachy with local art decorating the walls. We had a...
