The Nest — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

Very sketchy. Girls, beware! I was so disrespected and felt so violated by the guy who says he owns the place (told me his name was Austin then said he lied about his name). I still feel extremely uncomfortable even a day after leaving this place. When I first got there, I ordered my drink and he served it to me for no cost, saying it was no big deal, until he brought it up later and almost held it against me to try and guilt me when I told him he was making me uncomfortable. He hovered over my friends and I, never keeping his eyes off us, and wouldn't stop asking me personal questions, eavesdropped on my conversations to gather personal info about me, then took me away from my friends to talk about things I had been talking about with my friends. I was very nice to him but even when I did everything I could to show him I wasn't interested AND straight up telling me he made me uncomfortable, he was still persistent. This is a bar. A place to relax and have fun with friends. Not to be worried about management...

So, I was there for the "New Year's Eve" party tonight. The Facebook post said there was supposed to be 2 DJ's. I got there by 9:45pm. I dead serious watched a bartender guy go up, turn on what seemed like a prerecorded CD and that was it! No one shouting anything to hype the guests up, no one spinning records, nothing, no DJ to do a countdown, nothing. Literally some random guy sitting at the side of the bar started announcing a countdown at the 30 second mark but even then you could barely hear him because of the CD not lowering until 7 seconds. I left right after that countdown. I never had a chance to party for NYE for over 8 years and chose here to bring it in for my first one and it sucks because this was very disappointing because I had high hopes I guess based off their Facebook post. DJ was kickin. Great pizza rolls from Neils urban kitchen. Played pool and sat at a table just outside the kitchen. The bartender was awesome and went out of her way to make sure we were very well taken care of. Upbeat atmousphere, but not too busy for a Friday night. BEWARE and make sure you have some extra time: Zeus will thoroughly pat you down and search inside anything you are carrrying for guns and knives before you can enter the premise. Otherwise you may find Zeus getting ice for the bar or helping out in the kitchen and is there for your protection as well. I'll be back to hang out and play some of the crazy giant...
