New China Cafe — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

My waitress was very attentive and kind, that's about the only thing that was good in this place. If they actually have a chef, he/she takes no pride in his/her presentation of food and I definitely don't think they went to culinary school for any period of time. I had never visited this buffet before and by the it looks of things I will never be back, very disappointed. The quality of the food says a lot about the place and that's not saying much, lots of room for improvement. PS for those of you that have seafood allergies be very careful about the food that you pick, it will be falsely labeled, for example, I was going to have the chicken fried rice because that's what the label called it but then I took a closer look as I was scooping the rice up, there was pieces of shrimp in it, I addressed the situation with my waitress but nothing was done about correcting the false label. To the restaurant owners, your food needs to be properly labeled, if you have a customer with seafood allergies and they eat seafood it will close off their airway, they will suffocate to death before they even get to the hospital and then you will have a huge lawsuit on your hands, please be considerate of your future customers and their safety. I know I may sound like a Karen but I expect to get what I pay for, I do these Google reviews everywhere I go and this place by far was the worst I've been to in a while. We went about 7:30pm and the food was cold. I put my hand to the food to see if it was just me but everything was cold. We could not eat our food. The staff was just standing around not doing anything until I said something. Then checked to see if the burners we're on, which I don't think they were. Then the buffet runner started giving us looks and I could only assume he was thinking I'm crazy when I'm the one trying to eat this cold nasty food. Not once did they replace any of the items on the buffet until we were leaving, then they replaced the rice. And proceeded to put the old nasty cold rubber dry rice on top. We went to leave and the lady behind the counter was acting like we were wrong. I told them to bring a thermometer out and check the temperature on the food. They called the manager because he was out and after a good minute of them talking then decided to waive the buffet fee. Which we paid for our drinks because we did drink our drinks but was not going to pay for that food that I'm probably going to throw up later because it was no good. Just ate here today. Order chicken teriyaki but was given this pork looking meat with red sauce so I questioned. What is this. I did not order pork. Nothing in the red sweet sauce I ordered. Teriyaki Brown now I know when you go to return the food and they say you can pick something else out and exchange it. Make sure you pick us the one that's the same price cuz then they will charge you the difference even though you had to drive sit down at your home. Getting ready to eat. Stop having dinner with your family. Come get something else that everybody can eat that you know what it is and theyn you have to pay more on top of having to come back. They have been deleted from my food choices. The answer I got was well. You chose to come here. This is the only Chinese place on this side of town. So you get what you paid for.
