Taqueria Jalisco #8 — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

I have been coming to this location for almost 30 years, being that we Live in the neighborhood across the street. I get breakfast tacos three out of seven days a week here… As of this week, apparently their special tacos each morning are normally $1.49 For at least the past decade are now $1.99 when they ring it up. However, the advertisement board in the restaurant still says $1.49, And they would not honor that price for me. I was pointed to two laminated pieces of paper on the counter that showed that prices are going up on their food that contain eggs….

Well, if that’s the case, why don’t you just change the $1.99 on the menu? Complete false advertisement, and was treated very poorly about it as if I wasn’t a normal customer. Even a first timer should not be subjected to that false advertisement. I understand prices of everything are going up, but you need to honor what you still show on your menu. What a disappointment for how much my family has spent on this restaurant the past three decades. I would not have left a review like this had I not been treated like I was in the wrong. Ridiculous to pay $7 for 3 little bacon and egg tacos when the total should have been $4.93 like it was this past Friday....

The plates we were brought were fresh. The food was really good. But the wait staff just wasn't having it that day. Usually we get served chips and salsa. Drinks etc. But we had to ask intensely for everything. One waitress teated us like we didn't order when I asked for some chips and salsa. I was told we would have to buy them because they're for if you ordered. Even though I promised we did because we had our drinks with us and we were waiting on food.

You could clearly see they had a lunch rush. And I have worked in the service industry for years. So I figured hey that is why the service is like this. Maybe they're tired. I figured in the end it was because maybe I'm not a regular, regular. But that day we were just disappointed with the service. I've ate here 2 to3 times before. My friends have mentioned eating here within the park week or two, so It was a mood.

But out of the 4 waitresses each one gave us attitude. From trying to take the salsa that was just set at the end of the table, scoffing at us, to completely ignoring our table or me as I was calling for them politely for a to go box.

Business is business. Service is service. Hope to have a better...

Ordered via Grub Hub, delivery was fine.

*Tampiquena with cheese enchilada was decent and acceptable. The rice tasted borderline burnt, but possibly from sitting in a well on the line for too long. Refried beans were good. Flour Tortillas a bit thick but real.

*Tostado was packaged very nice, ground beef in a container on the side. Lettuce, tomato and sour cream also separate from the bean covered tostado shell. Very impressed, but.. ‼️sour cream was spoiled
