Bred Hot Chicken — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

I was looking for a fried chicken restaurant open on a Monday. Memphis next door was my first pick but they are not open on Mondays.

So i decided to try this place. Well, first it is overpriced... I had a fried chicken salad, mac&cheese and a drink, my buddy had the sliders and some nuggets. The total with tip was a whopping $74.93...

At that price you would expect pretty damn good food, an amazing location, or outstanding service. First they forgot to bring us the drinks 😁 Well... The salad was lettuce and croutons and some breaded chicken on top. I took the option more chicken .... I had more croutons than chicken 😆. A very very basic salad. Just 3 ingredients and only one of them does not come from a plastic container. The Mac and cheese were flavorful, but the cheese was not well melted and the portion was really small. Expresso cup type of portion.

I did not get to try the sliders but my buddy was happy, i tried the nuggets and they were alright. Nothing special about it. Very very basic.

Sauce is bland and boring, maybe cheap mayo and ketchup together.

So the food was really underwhelming at that price point.

Especially knowing that the restaurant is sooooo greasy. It is definitely not clean.... The tables are greasy the trash is greasy, the fountain drink dispenser is greasy, the tv's are greasy... You got the idea.

The good thing is that there is a massive tv (made out 4 smaller screens) But the corners are not aligned and the colors don't really match 😆.

So another restaurant that is made to milk the simple fellows. The menus options are really not good. Maybe you should focus the attention on the chicken. Who cares about toast when you have chicken and fries ?

What a wonderful chicken restaurant. The ladies who were working this evening were very kind and answered all my questions. I believe her name was Laura she even came out to the parking lot and got my attention that my order was ready, she was very nice. The restaurant is clean and decorated well. I ordered a little bit of everything to sample and the food was just absolutely wonderful. The big old chicken sandwich is huge I even pulled out one of the pieces of chicken to eat the following day so the picture where you see the half eaten sandwich that's only with half the chicken that it comes with because it was so much. The grilled cheese was magnificent and they do not skimp on the cheese . The millionaire mac & cheese was amazing. The potato salad was good, regular potato salad not bad at all. I think the only drawback I noticed was they are a Pepsi shop and not a Coca-Cola shop ha ha. I give these guys a 10 out of 10 for great attitude,...

First of all I want to share that I know of breds since there beginning stage were they had a little cooking van and they would post in instagram where they would pop up. The owners worked so hard every time that I would go I would see them and they would recognize me I would see them at festivals, church, apartments, and me and my husband would drive to them because that’s how good the food and service is! The service is excellent every time I go there a genuine smile annd greeting. They always ask if I need anything else, I love it!! it’s always a pleasure to see them. All I know is that the food is excellent and the service is exceptional!! 10/10 would always recommend to anyone and everyone!!!! But overall Shout out to the cook his wife and there daughter!!!!!
