A Breakfast Gem in Costa Mesa
If you’re looking for an outstanding breakfast spot in Costa Mesa, look no further than Rooster Cafe. I’ve been a loyal patron for years, and every visit reinforces why this charming little cafe has become my go-to breakfast destination.
From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The decor is a delightful blend of rustic charm and modern touches, making it a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy a hearty meal. The staff is consistently friendly and attentive, always ready with a smile and recommendations if you’re unsure what to order. Their genuine passion for providing a great dining experience is palpable, and it never goes unnoticed.
Now, let’s talk about the food—specifically, the breakfast tacos, which are my absolute favorite! These tacos are a culinary masterpiece. Each taco is generously filled with fresh ingredients that burst with flavor. The tortillas are perfectly soft yet hearty enough to hold all the deliciousness inside. I love the combination of scrambled eggs, perfectly seasoned meats, and a medley of toppings that include fresh avocado, cilantro, and a tangy salsa that ties everything together beautifully. Every bite is a celebration of flavors, and it's hard to resist ordering seconds!
Beyond the breakfast tacos, Rooster Cafe offers a diverse menu that caters to a variety of tastes. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic breakfast platter, fluffy pancakes, or a healthy acai bowl, there’s something for everyone. I’ve tried many items on the menu, and I’ve yet to be disappointed. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared and presented with care, showing the kitchen’s commitment to quality.
The coffee at Rooster Cafe is also noteworthy. They serve robust, flavorful brews that perfectly complement the breakfast dishes. I often find myself savoring a cup while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere around me. It’s the ideal way to start my day!
Another aspect I appreciate about Rooster Cafe is its consistency. No matter when I visit—be it a busy weekend morning or a quiet weekday—I can always count on a high-quality meal and excellent service. It’s clear that the team here takes pride in what they do, and that dedication shines through in every aspect.
Over the years, I’ve celebrated many special mornings at Rooster Cafe, from casual brunches with friends to quiet moments spent with a good book and a delicious meal. It has truly become a beloved part of my routine, and I look forward to every visit.
In conclusion, if you’re in Costa Mesa and looking for a breakfast spot that offers amazing food, a welcoming atmosphere, and exceptional service, I highly recommend Rooster Cafe. Their breakfast tacos are not to be missed, and I guarantee that one visit will have you returning for more. Thank you, Rooster Cafe, for always making my mornings brighter! Many blessings to the team for all their hard work...
Read moreWe happened to be in the area purchasing some stuff when we got hungry. We were unfamiliar with the area so we hopped on Yelp and found the Rooster Cafe and saw how popular it was so we opted for this location. When we arrived it was pretty busy, we luckily found a spot right in front of the store. I think you have to street park sometimes when it gets crazy busy.
The restaurant itself was also pretty small although they did have a patio, but it was already full as was the inside. It's a self-seating after ordering establishment so you'll have to wait if all the seats are taken. We ordered a Build-Your-Own omelette of eggs whites and mushroom, spinach and bell peppers ($12.00) that came with a side of red potatoes. The boyfriend ordered a breakfast burrito ($9ish).
The only issue I had really was just the wait. We waited 10 minutes for a seat, but there was no actual waiting area so you're kinda awkwardly standing next to customers that are seated and eating. Then the food itself took over 30 minutes (roughly 40 minutes), overall took us over an hour from ordering to finished eating. Most of it was just us waiting. Definitely don't come starving because it'll be awhile before you get your food.
But I did enjoy how homey the food tasted, I can tell for the most part that real eggs whites (cracked from an egg) was used rather than carton'ed ones. The flavors were yummy, I loved their red potatoes that had a nice seasoned taste to it that went very well with the omelette. We very much enjoyed the food. I would be back, but probably will just order to-go next time...
Read moreOrdered a simple 2 egg breakfast for pick up and they managed to give me the wrong order with no receipt, I called asking if I could just return the food, as it was for my friend since we were in a rush to leave the hotel. At this point after driving 20 minutes there's no use to try and go back at the time, so we call. This is where it gets absolutely obnoxious, The manager argues with me on the phone about how I cannot return the food that was NOT TOUCHED and tried to console me with 3 different stories about what happened, that didn't. "You grabbed the wrong bag" there was only ONE bag that was HANDED to me. "The cashier noticed as soon as you grabbed the bag and tried to get you" I parked in front of the restaurant for about 4 minutes trying to figure out to get home, I was facing the front door, no one was there. "There were two orders and got mixed up" There was only one on the counter She then continued to refuse a refund though we didn't touch "allison's" order, and argue with more bs lies to get out of taking responsibility for a mistake, completely outrageous and unprofessional. You wanna argue with a customer over $9? Maybe you need it more than I do. I've been here before, make sure you get a receipt (didn't get one past 3 times) probably can't afford the paper. Make sure you know what's going on, though they'll probably lie to your face too to save a measly $9 and lose a...
