Social Distancing Review
Can't say no to free wings! I usually visit the Hooters in Anaheim to redeem my free birthday month wings, but my travels led me to the LAB Anti-Mall & the Costa Mesa Hooters location was on the way home, right off the 405.
Arriving before noon on a Sunday, I was greeted and informed to choose anyplace to sit outside. I chose the big round table right next to entrance, and I asked if I can have 1/2 & 1/2 wings. I was told I could do so, and I chose Habanero BBQ & General Tso's.
General Tso's sauce was delicious! Full-bodied, smoky & a good amount of heat. Akin to an amped up BBQ sauce. Really good!
The Habanero BBQ sauce scores higher on the Scoville scale for heat, compared to General Tsos's. However, although good on it's own right, the richness of the General Tso's took top honor in my book, as I made sure to make my last wing a General Tso's wing.
Service was excellent. I was made to feel welcome, and my soda waters were refilled again & again, even one to take home. During my sticky chowdown of wings, I was informed the free birthday month wings promo is valid only for boneless wings, not bone-in. Hey, it wasn't my mistake. I just asked to redeem my promo. With a smile, I was told next year to expect boneless wings. Okay by me!
Hooters Costa Mesa is located on the left of La Quinta Inn & across the street from IKEA, right off the 405.
I prefer this Hooters location to the one in Anaheim. It's right off the 405, parking is easy to come by & the staff are easier on the eyes wink, wink. I'm anticipating pulling the trigger on the AYCE wings Tuesday promo, where I'll wreck shop upon plates upon plates of sauced up wings. I'll regret it later, but I'll be heaven during the wing debauchery. Some General Tso's here, some Daytona Beach there, a little Parmesan Garlic - my hands will be sticky for days!
Highly recommend!
