New York Slice Deli — Restaurant in Costa Mesa

This place was great! I feel sad for the reviewer who had a bad breakfast experience here. I needed breakfast before flying back to Texas this morning and I didn't know where to go so I just typed in "breakfast" and followed my google maps. At first I was a little nervous when it lead me to what looked like an office complex but holy smokes. This place is good! It's very cozy. I ordered the breakfast burrito and coffee. I had to wait a couple of minutes for my coffee, but that's because it was freshly made in a French press (which takes 4 minutes to brew) so it was well worth it! The breakfast burrito was H U G E. I almost ordered a side of potatoes with it but I'm glad I didn't because I sadly couldn't even finish my burrito. The ingredients were fresh and flavorful--the food isn't overly dressed up but because of the quality of ingredients it doesn't have to be. I got called to work in Costa Mesa before I could have breakfast and before I knew it, it was too late for breakfast and too early for lunch, so I took a shot on this place, reviews said it was good but when I looked at the address I saw it was near the airport in a warehouse district and I was not too sure, but I didn't have much choice. Service was amazing the young guy that helped me made me a great cup of coffee and the lady in the kitchen had already put away the breakfast stuff and was getting ready for lunch time, she said I'll make you breakfast if that's what you want. She made me an awesome plate. I told them it was unlikely I would come back since I usually don't go that far for work but I promise I would leave them a great review. The paninis here are AMAZING!!!! I bought a panini and a Vietnamese coffee to pick up lunch before I headed back to my next class and it was SO GOOD!!!! The panini was absolutely delicious and had lots of spinach which I thought was amazing since usually I find many places not putting enough vegetables in their stuff but it was FULL of it on my panini here!!!! Cooked to perfection and the perfect filling lunch! I also got the Vietnamese coffee which was super good, it was the perfect amount of sweet, was not overwhelming but just right. The worker lady’s were very sweet too and gave me recommendations and welcomed me into the shop!
