Finally, Sals has opened again. Went today and ordered a pie, the new look and new staff were great. Met the new owner and his friend helping, and they were the nicest people. Gave us free bread sticks with marinara while we waited for our pie. The pizza was great, and I can't wait to go back. Finally, there is good pizza again back in the Rohnert Park, Cotati area. Give them a try you wont be disappointed.
Update: I ordered a meatball sandwich and chicken parmigan sandwich today and was very disappointed. The meatball sandwich was awful, and the meatballs tasted disgusting. Definitely not the same meatballs as the old Sals. I almost drove back to have them try it and it to see if they thought it tasted good. The chicken parm was not good as well. Chicken had the texture of being frozen and microwaved. I understand this is not their specialty, but for 14$ each and being on the menu, I certainly expected better. If you go to sals, stay away from these items and stick to the pizza.
Updated number 2: I have gone back to Sals multiple times since they first reopened, and the pizza just isn't as good as it used to be. The dough is a little thicker, and there is more cheese on the pizza, which makes for a heavy pizza. I also believe that the pizza could be cooked a little longer to give it some more crisp. Just a couple of days ago, we ordered a half cheese, half sausage. The pizza was just so so. Since sals had been closed, I started going to Papa Murphy and getting their thin crust NY style pizza and may just...

The pizza - delicious. It reminds me of this pizza place that I (really) missed in Charleston, SC. Thin crust, they are generous with toppings, and it is made to order!
The delivery - The menu is fairly simple, and the service is prompt. They do offer carryout, and 90% of the orders I've placed were ready in the 20 minutes they estimated. The one time I got delivery the food arrived hot and the order was correct!
This place both has my heart, and my highest recommendation.
Update: 1/31/2019. Today I shed a single tear. They have switched from Coke to Pepsi. This is a gamechanger, and I don't know how to handle...
Read moreWe came to Sonoma state to pick up our son for winter break and we were craving a good Pizza. So we googled the best pizza near me and found this gem. This place has a phenomenal hand tossed more of a thin crust New York style pizza made with pride. You can taste the difference when something is made from scratch with quality natural and clean ingredients. Not at all greasy and commercial tasting. Definitely one of the Top 5 best pizzas I have ever had in the state and top 10 nationally and I have traveled a lot. It's not quite to the level of What we got while traveling Italy and Europe but now we are comparing globally. The price is very fair for the quality of pizza you are getting, Definitely a must try when in the area. My wife and son are still talking about it. We had a combination pizza that had some high quality meats and fresh veggies...
