I was excited to see this restaurant was open and anxious to try it hoping for a new local favorite. We have watched the transformation from raunchy bar to restaurant. They did a nice job on the remodel. The outdoor area is nice with shaded tables and a play area for kids. Not sure how many families will go there to pay $15+ per person to eat. Sadly, I don't think they can remain open long enough to make back those rehab costs unless they make some serious changes! The menu is atrocious. They need to throw that away and start over. Get rid of the stack of individual pages for a real menu, proofread the many errors and offer some nicely worded descriptions of the food instead of just titles. Seafood seems to be misrepresented as fresh. Our group honestly had a hard time choosing something we actually wanted to eat. The Mexican options are very limited. Ironically, without discussing it, we each decided on the fish basket. It came in a woven basket covered with a plastic bag which was strange. The fish was greasy and had too much breading but was tasty. I had one large glob of fried breading that contained no fish. Fries were undercooked despite requesting well done. Service was average. We witnessed two groups of people come in, sit down, look at the menu and leave without ordering. Twice in about an hour! Overall, the experience was underwhelming and does not inspire a return visit. You can't make it in a small town unless you do something so well, people come back over and over. They have missed the mark on that one. I hope they will make adjustments to save...
Read moreAt the age of 41, I have enjoyed a wide array of dining experiences, yet this one stands out as the most disappointing. Even though we arrived a full two hours before the restaurant's advertised closing time, they refused to correct an error in my order, attributing their refusal to the chef's exhaustion. This was particularly frustrating as I watched them accept and prepare two takeout orders while the kitchen was clearly still operational and bustling with activity.
Furthermore, our simple request for a salsa bowl was rejected by the waitress, who expressed concerns over the risk of double-dipping. It's worth noting that the only dining companion I had was my husband, and we assured her that sharing saliva was not an issue for us. Despite this, she found it more sanitary to recommend a communal squeeze bottle for our chips, a bottle that has undoubtedly been touched by numerous customers before us. This decision intriguingly contrasts with their stated commitment to hygiene, prompting us to question the consistency of their sanitation practices.

Read moreGreat set up. Loved that there's a child's playground in the back. But all that potential fell flat once I saw the narrow choices on the menu. I have a hard time trusting shell fish in the middle of Arizona, and the Mexican food choices were extremely limited. Then the food arrived and it went downhill fast. I got a grilled chicken breast with rice and beans. While the rice and beans were pretty good, standard really, the chicken breast was tough and tasted like cardboard. My husband got chicken fajitas, and while the onions and peppers were good, the scarcity of chicken that was included was again, tough and tasteless. The corn tortillas I ordered with my meal must have been rolled up a few days ago. They were impossibly tough. And the cap on the horrible meal was in finding a scalded but still recognizable sticker on one the fajita peppers! Really, one of the worst meals I've ever had, except the service was great - hence...
