While waiting for my order to arrive I picked up all the Sonic cups, pop cans, and paper bags that had been collecting on the floor board. It was about 1/2 a 13 gallon bag bag. More than half was Sonic related items because we go to Sonic often while traveling. After receiving order, I threw the 1/2 bag in the trash on the way out in an open Sonic trash can by the end of the exit drive just prior to the turn on the road to leave. The car in front of me was stopped. A 50-60 year old man in a gray type Sonic uniform and visor got out of his car and said the can was for customers. I told him I was a customer and asked if he would like to see my electronic receipt. He said it was only for customers in the "yard". And pointed to the area behind me of open seats and pull ins. I told him it was more than half Sonic waste from previous visits while traveling. He said he would not accept the house hold trash, "everyone in town would throw it here." I explained again it was majority Sonic trash that I had cleaned from the floor of the car while waiting and it was not house trash as I was traveling and pointed out my South Dakota plates. He refused to move the car that was blocking the exit until I got the trash out of the can. Have never dealt with a Sonic employee like this and considered calling yhe police as he refused to move his vehicle. The date is Nov. 3, 2021 and occured about 2:30- 2:45pm. Unaccptable. Why have trash cans if you don't want customers...
Read moreJust a quick lunch. Took a neighbor and friend for some food and she requested Sonic. Mind you, I've not been to the drive-in for many years. No specific reason other than I try not to do a lot of fast food.
The stall/lane/ordering parking spot we pulled in didn't allow our payment to transact. But they took payment when they brought us our food.
We both ordered the smash burger with cheese. The Double. Why not a triple, you ask? I'm with you. We had made all that effort to get there. But alas, this was lunch. And we both could make some caloric sacrifices, to be honest!
I'll tell you, this burger--smashed and deformed--perhaps one of the best fast food meals eaten by this bloke this year. And last year. Maybe also the year before! The French Fries? Super crispy with a more than adequate amount of ketchup packets and Groovy sauce.
There was a mistake on the bacon burger ordered for my friend's service dog. I was amazed when they simply remade the order and brought it right out, with a smile.
Bonus points if you know the weather started out at 23° here but was so lovely that we sat and ate at one of the picnic tables. Because who doesn't want to eat at a park bench when going to a drive-in place? Beautiful day, great food, cheerful service. This is the Sonic to get good food at in the Verde...
Read moreNOT HAPPY - I waited until I got home to drink my Cherry Limeade (I drove 42 miles to get there) It was that second I realize soon as I took my first drink that it was not right...something was just not right...it tasted like cherry syrup....You would think with all the Covid-19 restrictions and food spots shutting down left and right across the country that some of these employees would consider their job to be on the line daily and to go above and beyond to ensure the order is correct. You know or lets just say you should know, there are a lot of younger people working here that might not necessarily care that you drove 40 miles accumulative BUT THE OWNER SHOULD its his or hers bottom line that is being affected by this. I do not always write a bad review but after this happening yesterday and me thinking about it. I sit here on 04/20/21 with the incident happening on 04/19/21 I still feel a great need to pass this along....IF YOUR ORDER IS WRONG MAKE SURE THEY FIX IT SO IT STARTS TO TAKE FROM THE OWNERS BOTTON DOLLAR BY ADDING WASTE.
