3rd Base Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Council Bluffs

One of the best waiter/bar tenders we've ever had. He had a full house & was kicking a**. Food was quite good, but I do have to call them out in their pork "tenderloin." While it was good, I highly suspect it's actually from a pork loin (the same cut loin chops are cut from), not the tenderloin. It's far too big, the meat is very white, and lacked that tenderloin texture and rich juicyness. I tried salting, but realized what it was and that I wasn't going to get that flavor I was missing (please correct me if I'm wrong). I was told, and it looks like, they cut and bread them themselves. It is a very small place and we were lucky that a table was clearing as we were arriving. They were pretty busy on a Friday night so we waited a bit for our food but I would have waited another 45 minutes if I had to for that damn Broasted chicken. Perfect crisp. Definitely a must try, thank me later. It is worth the wait and the staff is friendly and the drinks are strong. I highly recommend this hidden gem. My wing-snob wife gave their wings double thumbs up (equal to 6 stars) They have their chicken game on lock.

When driving and seeing the building from over a block away, my son and I said that the place looked a little sketchy from the outside. When we drove past the front, I said it looked a little better. Inside it was really quite nice. There are three large nicely cushioned booths, a large bar with plenty of seating, and several tables between the booths and bar. The people were very friendly and thoughtful. The food quality was excellent for all-American pub fare. We really enjoyed ourselves and plan on visiting again soon.
