Was sad to see the flame torch was out but maintenance is tough. I truly enjoyed the view of the area and could picture what it was like to see that point from a time when no homes or trees may have obscured the vast amazing landscape. It sadden me to think of the real history we do not teach or reveal to ourselves and kids. The real tail of the rail is hidden in this small place with just a glimpse into the past. My kids had 6 years of so called advanced American history and the connection to financial and industrial knowledge still alludes them and there understanding of how wecame to be Americans. This decisions was the beginning of the end. To our Native cultures, society's, and lost forever spiritual knowledge and understanding of the real American frontier and the lessons they learned and how to flourish for 1000 generations and not destroy the environment or pollute the world.
