Pep's Sub & Pizza Shack — Restaurant in Covina

Let me start by saying, I was making this order for My Company... i arrived at location... my pizza was waitIng for me boxed in the oven. I asked if this pizza was fresh, and of course “she”, ( owner I believe, short Asain lady), said, “yes.”, it wasn’t. Pizza was burned, you can tell it was sitting there for a while. Now than, quality of food... 1? Now... customer service... terrible! None. Like when I walked away I felt as if I did something wrong... she stated talking in her native language. Which she keep telling her partner to rush me out the door.

Needless to say I left. And the pizza stayed... went down the street and payed $14.51 with 15% tip at Artistran Pizza, (16’), cheaper, and better ingredients.

I read the reviews that’s said it’s a great place to watch the Dodgers, (go BLUE!!!), but as for my experience. Never again!!!

Pep's is kind of a local institution in an age where local institutions are rapidly disappearing.

The owners are kind of odd, but the food is surprisingly good. The waitress/bartender on duty was friendly and attentive, and they have a fairly large menu and decent selection on tap.

I'd recommend this mainly as a place to have a few drinks and nosh while...

This place is rather small. Kind of a dive bar with a small kitchen (Italian mostly. Pizzas and sandwiches) but with a friendly feel. A bit of a sports bar. The locals come out here a lot. (It can get crowded and a little loud sometimes!) The food is pretty good, they have lots of variety on beers. Yeah, kind of your average joint. A very good average...
