I visited F&B at the old location several times and always had great experiences. Naturally, we were excited to visit the new location with some friends. However, our recent visit was far from pleasant due to the unwelcoming and downright rude behavior of the staff.
Upon arriving at the new location at 8:44pm, we noticed a few people ahead of us in line, along with a mother and toddler behind us. As we discussed our orders and admired the new surroundings, I approached the counter to check out the ice cream flavors. To my surprise, the staff was pulling out the tubs and wiping off the flavor names from the glass. Although the flavors were still listed on the menus above, I found this to be a bit odd.
Out of the four workers present, only one was taking orders and making ice cream, while the other three were frantically cleaning and putting everything away. This was happening despite the fact that there were still several people in line and more than 10 minutes remaining until closing time. As the people ahead of us placed their orders, I overheard the worker informing them that several flavors they requested were unavailable due to running out. This was perplexing because I had just seen the flavors in the display, and the worker had even put them away in the freezer. It seemed like she blatantly lied to the customers.
When our friends placed their orders, one of the workers abruptly shouted, "It's 9!" The blonde girl, who appeared to be in charge, exclaimed, "That's it! No more!" My boyfriend and I were then told we couldn't place our orders. We looked at the girl and explained that we were with the group that had just ordered. Reluctantly, the blonde girl allowed us to order but insisted we had to eat outside.
The mother and toddler behind us were also denied the opportunity to order and left the place disappointed. It was heart-wrenching to see the child upset, and I wished they had been given the chance to order before us. Sadly, they left hurriedly, visibly affected by the experience.
We proceeded to sit on the patio, as instructed, to "enjoy the outside." However, shortly after, the girls came outside and asked us, along with another group on the patio, to leave. The atmosphere of the shop was unwelcoming and uncomfortable, which significantly tarnished our overall experience.
Despite the unpleasantness, everyone in our group did receive their ice cream, and it was indeed delicious. However, the behavior of the staff left us with a sour taste and made us question the management of the new F&B location. It felt as if the workers were more concerned with closing up rather than attending to the customers. If all four workers had focused on serving customers instead of cleaning and preparing for closing time, everyone could have been served promptly.
The lack of friendliness and the rushed approach of the staff were disheartening. It saddens me to say that, despite our previous enjoyable experiences, this recent encounter has left me reluctant to recommend F&B to others. The employees' actions put a damper on our ice cream night, which was meant to be a fun outing for our group of five. I sincerely hope that the owners take notice of how their customers are being treated during the evening hours.
I understand the desire to close on time, but would it truly have taken that long to serve the mother and child behind us as well? This experience has made me question whether the new F&B location is being run with the same level of care and attention as...
Read moreI was at Floyd and Blackey's yesterday (2-27-25 @ 2:15 pm)for a crochet class. I was not able to get a disabled parking spot because some man that works there and he drives a white car without a disability rearview mirror hanging placard or a disability license plate on the rear of his car chose yesterday to park in a disability parking space so that he could get in the back door of this restaurant very quickly and very decreatly. I drive a a large gold colored Chevrolet Silverado pick up truck with a very large gold camper top on it. I have a blue rollator walker to use because I have a birth injury walking condition that I suffer from. I saw that there was someone else that had a disability rearvirw mirror hanging placard hanging in their car parked in the 2nd disability parking space and the next space was taken by anyone because that is how the space is designed. I had to drive on around and park in the front of the restaurant where there are large curbs. I took up 2 parking places and put my disabled parking rear view hanging placard up on my rear view mirror for everyone to see. A lady helped me by loading my walker onto the sidewalk for me so I could get to the front door real easy. This isn't the first time that this has happened with me at this restaurant. Also on this same day I found out at the close of my class that the one single unisex bathroom that is in the second indoor dining room was being used for storage. My crochet instructor and I would always sit in this second dining room for my crochwt class, so when class was over I would use the unisex bathroom. Yesterday I couldn't because the unisex bathroom was being used for storage only. I opened the door unaware of the unisex bathroom was stuffed up to the door knob. You can't even hardly stick your head inside. You can't use any of that bathroom. I went and reported that bathroom to a lady that works in there. She told me that she was new and that she didn't know when that room would go back to being a bathroom. That she would report my complaint to management. I went the other ladies restroom inside the big dining room. Only to find a nasty tampon left inside the toilet bowl. After I used the toilet I was left with no choice but to report that toilet to a man that works in there. I told him that what was left in that toilet bowl might cause a problem to that toilet and since the other female bathroom is being used for storage that would leave us females without a public bathroom, so now what were they going to do? I also told him to make a sign to put up in the bathroom that women can't put anything in the toilet and flush the toilet. I am appalled at how they do at this restaurant. My inability of getting a proper parking spot has been reported by my crochet instructor before too. I think that there needs to be an employee housekeeping done at this restaurant. I also have a picture of the stuffed full storage bathroom. I sent that picture to my crochet instructor yesterday along with what happened to me as far as the...
Read moreI'm giving it 3 stars because the food was ok but the service was TERRIBLE. All the teenagers serving the food were rude and inattentive. They were constantly on their cellphones and totally uninterested in offering good customer service.
We ordered a hazelnut shake with one person that was behind the dessert display, he said he was going to get it done while we were waiting in the line. By the time we got to the cash register the girl asked what we wanted, we told her that we were having the "hazelnut shake" and mentioned that another kid was making it. She said to my husband "well, he can't be making it because we are out of that flavor". I was looking at other ice creams and I didn't hear her say that, so I told her that I wanted a hazelnut ice cream cup. She said: "As I just told you, we don't have it" her tone was very, VERY nasty. I told her that I wasn't listening when she said it because I was looking for other flavors. I requested the cookie dough ice cream and another girl started making the cup, I asked if she could add chocolate chips, to what she said with a terrible attitude (as we should have known ahead of time): "we are out of them". I ordered the sprinkles and you can see on the photo, she barely put any sprinkles on my ice cream for an additional $0.65.
We ordered a slice of blue berry cheesecake (that didn't have much blueberries, but it tasted good) and sat to wait for our shake. 5 minutes passed and no one called. I looked at the counter and the kids were on their phones and joking around, the girl in the cash register gave me bad looks AGAIN! I felt so unwelcome, it was very uncomfortable. We were wondering what happened with the moose tracks shake but because we weren't in a rush we waited for another 5 minutes, finally we decided to ask what happened. The girl apologized because they forgot to call us, the shake was sitting on top of the counter for 10 minutes.
We will not be back. I'll not recommend this place to anyone. I will not support a place where they make us feel unwelcomed. Customer service is key. Customer service is all about retaining the clientele and for that you need to be polite. I understand that we all have bad days, for that reason I try not to give bad reviews simply based on someone's attitude, but this is a very different situation. This is a case where everyone at that place believes that it's ok to be rude and uncaring and get away with it. Very sad. The place may be clean and organized, the products may be good, but giving that horrible entitled attitude to people that support your business is sad and...
