I wish I could say it was all 5 stars, but I can't. It's a family owned and local business which I typically enjoy supporting, but I won't be back to this diner.
My husband and I stopped by recently on a week day and had a late breakfast. The place was pretty busy but not packed.
Our first impression was not a good one. The young woman at the hostess stand had a puss on her face as we entered. She looked exceedingly bored. She did not smile, did not say hello, just asked in a monotone voice, "How many?" She led us to, and left us off, at a table without uttering another word.
We had to wait quite a while before a waitress showed up to get our drink orders. She did apologize for the wait. The service, in general, was on the slow side.
The fabric on the back of the booth seats was stained and dirty. We were surprised since we thought this was a new place.

Read moreSeond visit to the diner, but first time in for breakfast. I'm a traditional breakfast guy who enjoys typical breakfast items - eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc. So I went out on a limb andI tried the southern favorite - shrimp and grits. If you like adding more flavor to your traditional breakfast items, you must try the shrimp and grits. You won't regret it. 5 stars all the way.
Great menu diversity for breakfast and lunch. Had an excellent "808" lunch sandwich, so kudos to the chef. The pleasant, new atmosphere received a much needed face lift. Overall, the new environment, staff and management made it an enjoyable luncheon experience. Will definitely make it one of my go to spots in...
