This Shop N Save is my favorite one by far. It's large, clean, and they have a great selection. They also have amazing sales often. Why the low rating? The employees. First, using all your employees to stock shelves at 9:00 is not a great experience when you're open until 12:00 and you have to avoid certain aisles because large palettes are blocking the way.
Second, it's so nice to see that a local business is hiring teenagers and lots of them. I went there last night at 9:00 and there was one lane open (understandable), 4 teenage employees congregated around the cashier, all having personal conversations while the cashier was trying to ring me out. She herself was paying more attention to the convo than her job. The teenager bagging put literally 2 items per bag for no apparent reason so I left with 10 bags for 20 things. They were all complaining about how they didn't want to do their job. Literally, using the words I don't want to do my job so I'm not going to; it's stupid. It was...an interesting experience. I guess teenagers will be teenagers, but this isn't the first time I've encountered this here.
If you go, definitely go during "normal" business hours of 8-5 and you'll have a...
Read moreManagement at this store is insane. They currently have a sign at their bottle shop saying only 3 customers are allowed in there at a time due to COVID-19, which is fair — it’s very small. But the manager stopped me from entering because there were 2 customers in there, plus him and a beer distributor/wholesaler stocking shelves and taking inventory. Ignoring the obvious incorrect distinction of a “customer” why would you tie up 2 of the 3 available “spots” in the store with non-customers and forcing your paying customers to wait on you? If I’m the manager, and I’m concerned about sales at my store, I’m stepping out of there and allowing my customers to shop, and stocking the shelves while there’s no one waiting. But that’s just me. He also ignored the fact that the distributor wasn’t wearing his mask, as required. I try to avoid this store at all costs, but it’s the closest grocery store to my home and sometimes I’m forced to pop in t there. But I’ll try harder to avoid that...
Read moreWhen visiting this location yesterday 9/14, we went in for a few quick items. One being from the deli counter. When approaching the deli counter the employee Melissa told me she would be with me when she can. Then pointed there is grab and go over there grab something from there… thought ok.. checked it out. What I wanted wasn’t there. so I approached again, this time to be greeted with a much worse attitude. She goes what? I said the grab and go doesn’t have what I want… she rules her eyes, deep sighs and ask what do I want…. Told her and she starts slamming stuff. I told her if helping me is an inconvenience I can go else where to shop. She replies I’m by myself and have a lot to do, and this takes up my time… umm hello… I’m the customer.. the amount of time u took to be rude I would have already been gone with what I needed. Absolutely horrible staff and horrible experience. I will not be returning...
