Five-Star Team, Frustrating Policy Change
I'm a frequent visitor to the Cranberry Township Goodwill on Freedom Road, as someone who donates regularly. I want to take a moment to recognize the outstanding team that manages donations outside. The staff who work the donation collection area are truly incredible—always friendly, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. Without fail, they offer to assist with unloading items from your car and ensure everything gets sorted properly. They're efficient, kind, and represent Goodwill with exceptional professionalism. The store is very lucky to have them.
That said, I was extremely disappointed to see that the outdoor donation bins have recently been removed. As someone who donates often, I found those bins to be an incredibly helpful and convenient part of the process. They added much-needed efficiency and streamlined the donation experience for both customers and, I imagine, the staff as well.
Unless the removal was due to severe weather concerns (in which case, I completely understand), this decision feels like a step backward. The lack of bins creates bottlenecks, slows things down, and negatively affects the overall donor experience. I hope Goodwill leadership reconsiders this decision and finds a way to reinstate the bins under normal conditions—perhaps removing them temporarily only during inclement weather.
Please know this feedback comes from someone who truly values the mission and work of Goodwill. I want to see it succeed, and I hope this input is taken constructively. And again, my sincere thanks to the outdoor collection staff—you’re the best part of the...
Read moreIt is sad to see Goodwill take the path they are taking with their prices. There are other thrift stores, even thrift chains, doing a lot of good in the community and still keeping their prices reasonable.
There was a time that our family loved a Sunday afternoon thrift shopping day. We would all load up and see how many Goodwill stores we could hit in an afternoon. This tradition ran for years. Now none of us want to shop there any more.
For our anniversary this year my wife and I tried again to enjoy shopping in a few Goodwill stores, and by and large we were disappointed. This store was no exception. $2.59 special price on a damaged paperback book that can be picked up elsewhere for .50 is unacceptable when they were donated by the boxfull to you...
I will have to take my business and charitable donations to another retailer, and I am sad to see it...
Read moreThis is a brand new store filled with lots of gently used clothing and shoes. They don't have a lot of baby or infant clothing, or even space to properly display those items. They do have a lot of women's and men's clothing. The have nice changing rooms. There is some home decor and other miscellaneous items for sale. Being that items are donated, stock will change daily so frequent visits might be a good idea. Their prices are reasonable. The one thing I did not like was their parking area. The layout is bad making both parking and maneuvering around the lot difficult if other cars are moving around. It does have easy access from the main road. All in all, it was a nice place to stop in, browse through, and find a reasonably priced outfit. Please like this review if you...
