*edit after response from owner. I really do appreciate your prompt response. If she did wash her hands, it wasn't until after she already began making the salad, including grabbing the salt and some other ingredients because she went directly to the salad making station after giving me my change. So at least half of the salad was made before she went out of my sight to the back area for about 5-10 seconds when she may have washed her hands. Either way, thank you again for addressing this. Hopefully they use gloves consistently, especially when making cold foods.
I just left there and had to throw my whole Brushetta Chicken Salad in the trash. I was there around 6:45pm on 7/5 and the woman who took my order was outside waiting on/bussing a table outside when I came in. She came back to the register to take my salad order which I paid for in cash. She then proceeds to make my salad without washing her hands or putting on a pair of the white food gloves that were sitting right there in front of her salad making area on the counter. I witnessed her at least grabbing a pinch of salt out of a container as well as my chicken with her bare and unwashed hands. I'm sure anything else put in that salad bowl without a utensil was touched by her as well. I'm sorry but that's very unsanitary, unacceptable and gross. I was so upset and disgusted I just took the salad and left. $16...
Read moreWe decided to come here for lunch. My family had ordered before me and I was last… i felt pressure to order quickly as people were in line behind me. (This establishment has a handwritten menu to order from, first come first serve) as I was trying to hurry to be courteous to those behind me, I had asked about a half soup and salad option. The employee (whom I found to be the owner after the fact) said you can get a half soup and side salad. I asked what the side salad was and then about the salad options, he was clearly irritated with my questions, offered absolutely no explanation other than “we have 6 salad options”. I ended up ordering a whole chicken salad which I didn’t want to do. I have been in the restaurant industry for almost 20 years, I have never in my life experienced an owner approach customers with the attitude and responses that he did. my father brought this to his attention, he couldn’t bring himself to apologize, only explain that he “thought he wasn’t rude.” You were rude, irritated, showed no care in explaining the food you offer. When you have a customer asking questions about your menu, you offer explanations. Your wedding soup was sub par, service was beyond awful and the salad I ordered was not good. In addition, all extremely overpriced. I’m glad that you acted that way, so I can make sure I’ll never spend my money in your...
Read moreVery nice place to get some delicious sandwiches, soups, salads, and other homey type foods. They also do delivery through a few services. They have so many very tasty sounding sandwiches! I got to try out their baked chicken panini and a chocolate chip cookie.
The baked chicken panini was very good. The portion was excellent! Much bigger than most paninis. The bread is well toasted and crispy on the edges. They fill it with a very adequate amount of vegetables. Delicious mushrooms and peppers, but would have liked something green too, like kale or spinach.
The chicken itself was pretty good, too. However, I will say that it tasted a bit rubbery. The sauce in the sandwich is delicious with a very very tiny hint of spice. They also give you a large pickle on the side.
The chocolate chip cookie isn’t made in house (it’s a L’Oven cookie). Honestly, it was kind of disappointing. Interestingly, the edges of the cookie were much tastier than the middle. It seemed a bit dry and stale, too. Probably wouldn’t recommend, but it is very big and a good deal.
All in all, very nice place for sandwiches and light food like that. I’d probably have dessert...
