I ordered the "Healthy Breakfast", as Miss Cranston calls it on their menu. It consists of a 4 egg white only(no yolks) rolled up omelette, fresh fruit cup containing canteloupe, green honeydew melon slices, and grapes, and two of the best whole grain pancakes I have ever eaten. I don't use any butter on top, but just a little pancake syrup. These whole grain pancakes are very light in texture, but big on flavor. You also get your choice of 2 slices of turkey bacon or turkey sausage This plate costs about $12, but I think it's worth the money. This meal will give you plenty of energy, and doesn't weight one down, like after eating regular buttermilk pancakes. I had the same dish last Sunday also, and enjoyed it so much that I ordered it again today. The service is great, even though I think they could be a little short staffed for cooks, as wait to receive food after ordering was about 45 minutes, and the waitress Jody, came by to apologize that the wait was so long. My wife had a conventional western omelette with toast, and home fries for about $10. The portions are large and you can bring them home in a "doggie bag" , if you don't finish it all. The total cost was $28,10, plus a $5.00 tip for the waitress. Total:$33.10. A great meal at a fair price. If you haven't tried Miss Cranston Diner, you're missing out on great meals. They also serve lunch and dinner daily also, I believe. There something for every one at Miss...
Read moreDisclaimer: I love breakfast places, from greasy spoon mom and pop style to fine dining. This is the ONLY place I have disliked. The diner is pretty. That's the only positive thing I can say. The service was lousy, I don't think she's ever been a server before to be honest though so maybe she just needs teaching. That's the only excuse I can think of to explain how clueless she is. The food was worse. The breakfast menu is very limited. The corn beef hash has a pungent flavor and is largely composed of gristle. I found it unpleasant having to spit out gristle while trying to eat breakfast. I thought it was impossible to screw up eggs and hash but they did, also if you like cheese ask for double because they use it very sparingly. Not one employee knows what wifi network belongs to their establishment and the paper with the passcode has a note written on it to "arman" asking him to correct it because his customers are displeased with being handed an incorrect password. I will never go back. If I wasn't so tired I would have refused to pay but didn't feel like debating with people who clearly are clueless. You'd think if someone only takes a few bites and then pushes the plate away and asks for the check the server might at least ask if everything...
Read moreI met a friend at the diner to celebrate her birthday. As I entered she was engaged in an argument with one of the waitresses. The waitress said that she had not seen her when she went into the dining room. This was very unlikely since there were two other tables she was serving and a table very close to hers and it was not a chance that she had not seen her. It would seem that This Woman's lack of attention to her had to do the fact that friend has dark skin. I convinced her to stay set at the same table location that she had been ignored at, with a couple sitting at a table directly across from hers further emphasizing the fact that waitress could not have possibly not seen her. From that point on I can only rate the waitresses overall attitude as abrupt and unfriendly. Of course Our intention is to not ever go there again and I will be sending a letter to the owner regarding...
