Greg's Breakfast Restaurant & Lunch — Restaurant in Cranston

I don’t know where to start… this is the 3rd time I’ve been to that restaurant and it doesn’t matter if there aren’t many tables or if the restaurant is busy, the wait is always more than 1 hour for the food to be served. Today I had a terrible experience, we waited more than 1 hour as always for the food to be served, the waitress’ service is terrible, she throws things at you when she gives them to you, from the cutlery to the plates. When they finally served us the food everything was wrong, they served us 3 of the 4 dishes that we had ordered, after waiting 1 hour we had to wait approximately 15 more minutes for my dad to be served his food. We hadn’t even been there for 10 minutes when the waitress brought us the bill, I understand that it’s a holiday and they close early but if you’ve just brought the food to the table, logically you don’t bring the bill. When she was told what bothered me and my family, her response was “I saw that you weren’t eating at the moment”, it’s a shame the service because the food is very good. I’m a waitress too and I understand the pressure one is under trying to bring things to your table, clearing plates and such but that doesn’t mean that I will throw things on the table or do what they did to us today, if you don’t have the concentration necessary to be a waitress DON’T DO IT...

8/19: This restaurant has become my go to place for eggs Benedict. Always perfectly prepared.

Update: tried the eggs Benedict again and ordered the eggs medium. This time they were properly prepared. White firm and yolks runny. So up the rating to 4 stars.

Local restaurant, usually not crowded. Huge menu, lots of variations on eggs Benedict, including asparagus (!), and omelets . Pancakes and waffles are available. The lunch menu looks interesting but I haven't tried lunch yet. Friendly service and reasonable prices.

I love local restaurants . The last two restaurants in this local did not do so well, but this new incantation looks much better. But not perfect. I ordered eggs Benedict and the waitress how I wanted the eggs cooked. Never had that question before. The eggs were poached but I was given the option of soft, medium or hard. After discussion with the waitress I went with soft. Bad decision! The whites were substantial under cooked and quite runny. Next time I try medium. The other choice, hard, does not seem appealing. The sauce was canned but quite tasty.

Looks are deceiving. It seems rather plain-jane from the street. It's in a non-descript little strip mall next to a bike path. Step down inside, however, and as soon as the smell of the fresh-from-scratch kitchen tickles your nose you will understand, this place is different. Simple yet tasteful decor, pleasant staff (family) and nice clean surroundings are the icing on the cake. The food here is FANTASTIC!!! Let me say it again, the food here is FANTASTIC!!! Freshly made, in house not from a can. Very creative specials and the price doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth. Wish I could say the same about the previous owners.
