This has been a go to place for us for the past 3-4 yrs. Sadly, the last 2 times we've gone, we've found the service to be seriously lacking. The last time we sat at the bar and it was 20 minutes before we were greeted by our server, after others who came in after us. The hostess asked our server if she had greeted us and the server said yes. The hostess looked at us and we shook our head as she had not been over- even to say she'd be a minute. The hostess went back to the little room to the left of the counter (if you're facing the counter) and spoke to her quietly. The server snapped back, loud enough for us to hear at the other end of the counter. It was clear she wasnt enjoying her job that day. We felt badly for the hostess.
They were about to go on vacation and were out of several things, which is understandable but semi frustrating.
The owner came over to say they were out of a dish but didn't apologize- which is out of character for what we have seen from her. Our server also didn't apologize for the delay. I rarely do this but I left a meager tip- we are generally very good tippers.
We will be giving this place a break and hope it returns to its normal service levels later.
It's too bad because we have enjoyed it. It's clean, the food is creative, and the owner is generally...
Read moreWhere do I begin? So, let's start with the service. We had to ask for silverware. The waitress couldn't stop yawning. She ended up taking my order wrong, as I saw on the check, which led to my bacon being burnt. Never asked what kind of toast I wanted either. First, she brought out my partners order. Two minutes later, my half burnt, cold french toast. Then, here comes my breakfast. At that point, I proceeded to tell her that both my French toast and my bacon were burnt and cold. By the time I finished my breakfast, she returned with the French toast and bacon. Two pieces of bacon were again burnt and the other two, not cooked. I had to ask for butter for the French toast and it didn't melt when I put it on. This meant, again, it was not hot. At that point, we had had enough. I had to ask a different server for our check and a to go box for my cold food. Also, don't expect the tables to be clean if they're busy. I overheard that they do not have a busboy yet. Because, it's so close to home, at some point, we may try them for lunch. But, for now, we will stick with our old favorites for breakfast. Harriet's first, then the English Muffin. Good luck going...

This place is definitely worth the money but if you're on a tight budget don't come here. We went here bc grampa said it was a cheap and great place to go to. This was not a cheap.
I love the art on the walls, the giant portions the lovely staff.
I hope this rundown on cost helped...
