J. Palmieri Pizzeria & Pub — Restaurant in Johnston

I didn't order a ton of different items off the menu but what I did order was, for the most part, alright, nothing to write home about though.

However... The large pizza was the worst thing to come to the table: Let's start with the most important part of a pizza, the dough, it was bready, bland, so thick to the point of being undercooked, if it was any more I would have sent it back, it felt like you're gonna chip a tooth on the crust and above all it was just really underwhelming on flavor, if it was properly stretched and cooked I don't think I'd be writing this. 2/10 dough.

Sauce. it was ok, nothing special, just seemed run-of-the-mill, could use more herbs and spices. 5/10.

Cheese. dunno how they did it but the crust is very hard and browned while the cheese had no browning except the tiny strip where it meets the edge of the crust. confusing to say the least. 4/10.

The toppings were the best part, which isn't surprising, it's really hard to mess up toppings. 6/10.

A place calling themselves a pizzeria you would expect their pizza to be the best thing on the menu, not the worst, right?

The wait time on food is pretty atrocious as well, expect to wait 30 minutes or more, we waited just shy of 40 minutes for a large pizza to hit the table.

If I were to recommend an item I'd say get the loaded tots with the sriracha mayo, those were pretty tasty, 7.5/10, but also not exactly a dish that shows off any real kitchen skills, I mean, drop the tots and fry the bacon, add the bacon and cheese then toss it under a salamander for a minute or two and then hit it with some sriracha mayo.

Horrible service and ridiculous wait time for lunch!

I sat down and wiped the table off that was covered with dirt and dust. The waitress came over and apologized and said “they” were working in that area. I said it’s no problem and that I wiped the table. She then replied that “they” may come back. So how about this... PUT A SIGN UP SAYING THAT TABLE OR SECTION IS CLOSED!

Then she couldn’t get the soda machine working... which happens. The final straw was I ordered and the waitress went back to the kitchen. She came back a few seconds later and told me it will be 25 minutes for Chicken Stir Fry which listed as a special on their menu board.

Here is another hint... SPECIALS SHOULDN’T TAKE 25 MINUTES TO COOK! JUST TELL THE TRUTH... THE COOK ISN’T PREPARED OR RAN OUT! I was then told then told the food is made “cooked to order”.

No kidding, my family and I have been eating there 25 years and we have never been told it’s 25 minutes for that dish nor has it ever taken 25 minutes for that dish.

OR... after being in business for decades, they haven’t figured out that people are on THEIR LUNCH BREAK and have a limited...

Awful customer service. Ordered a pizza specified I wanted Lite BBQ sauce Only. Pizza had tomato sauce on it. When I called to have them fix it, the person answering the phone admitted that she misunderstood me and it was her mistake, the man in the back which I will assume was the owner, refused to remake the pizza the right way… the woman was extremely apologetic and said she wished she could do something but he wouldn’t budge. Which in my opinion is awful customer service. I just spent $24 on pizza that they made wrong, wouldn’t rectify it, and I didn’t even attempt to get my money back. I think we would have to assume the answer to that would have been a no. Shame. My husband does enjoy the pizza when it’s made correctly. But customer service goes a long way and apparently he does...
