Mami — Restaurant in Cresskill

I came here on a weekday for brunch with some friends. Surprisingly it was pretty busy but we got a table without waiting. The interior was so nice and comfy, with huge glass windows, all the sunlight brightened up whole dining space.

The menu a lot of interesting Mediterranean dishes like Burik, Labneh, Hummus alongside regular dishes like sandwiches, wraps, entrees, salads and sides. There are several of hot and cold drinks as well. We started with the burik, a nice small appetizer, came with 3 different sauces. For entree I got the Branzino. It was an amazing dish, with herb tahini and roasted tomatoes. The filet was cooked so well, with crispy outer layer. The incredible shawarma was a huge dish and also so delicious, full of flavor. My friend liked his shakshouka dish too. It came with a big loaf of bread that we all were able to share.

The service was good overall. Our server was friendly and attentive. The dishes came out in short time. We had a wonderful brunch here and looking forward to dine...

Extremely disappointed in our breakfast at Mami this weekend. I had high hopes for this place as the website kind of gave LIV Breads vibes but I should have known before we walked in that it was going to be bad. First off parking is terrible at this place. The parking lot is super small and barely any parking. When we walked in the place gave off 70's vibes. It felt like we went back in time to my grand parents house. Everything from the floors to the seating felt old! Unfortunately it only gets worse as the service was terrible and the food was even worse. The Shakshuka was overly watery and had no flavor, the Mami Breakfast was no better as the eggs were super hard and ice cold. Overall I would give this place negative stars if I could. Save your time and money and go to LIV Breads...

We were really excited to finally have a place like this in the neighborhood, but unfortunately, it’s missing the mark on value. Portions are extremely small, and the waiting staff feels too pushy with upselling. This could have been a spot we’d visit three times a week, but we’ve decided not to return.

The size of the hummus dish - especially for takeaway - is frankly a disgrace. We truly hope this feedback is received as constructive input for the owners to improve, rather than just a complaint, because the concept is great but the execution needs...
