Crooked Tale Gastropub — Restaurant in Crestview

I've been here three times. Once when they first opened, the service was spotty but the food was good. We thought it was worth another visit and recommended others try it. The 2nd time we went was for brunch and it was OK. I still was open to given it another go since they were still new.

Saturday, we got there just after you opened with a group of 8 people. We were one of two tables in the restaurant at the time. Our waitress came over after we had been sitting for probably 10min to take our drink order. At the same time she asked if we were ready to order food too and we said OK. Several other tables sat down in the mean time. Several other tables who sat down after us started receiving their food, finished their meals and even paid and left. We were still waiting on food.

It was over an hour to get our food and one of the people in our party didn’t get his burger until after we had all finished eating. Our waitress came over one time to ask the girl sitting next to me if she wanted another beer, I was also drinking beer and my glass was almost empty but she didn't ask.

My chicken sandwich had an abysmal piece of “lettuce” on it and a few diced tomatoes.

Our waitress had zero sense of urgency the entire time we were sitting there and only apologized once. It took us almost 20min to get our checks.

I sent a private message to the business FaceBook page instead of posting a public review however they read the messages and have yet to respond.

Stopped by this restaurant today March 25,2024 around lunch time with my wife and I’m sure glad we did. We started lunch with a huckleberry cocktail which was 9.95, the price is alittle up there but honestly it was so delicious loved every sip. For food I ordered the meat wagon burger which is a brioche bun holding back a nice juicy burger anyway you liked it cooked, caramelized onions, in house beer cheese, pulled pork and other condiments. The first bite I was in heaven I loved every single bite. The fries were just normal but ask for a small bowl of the in house beer cheese and man you got yourself a finger licking good time. My wife ordered the stool pigeon chicken sandwich. The menu says generous portion of chicken and they sure are because that chicken breast was huge. I got to taste it and that was probably one of the best chicken sandwich’s I have had. The price for both is us came out to around $48 which was two entrees, a cocktail, and a soda and extra beer cheese. The only complaint I had was $3.95 for a 8oz glass of dr. Pepper I understand inflation in 2024 but damn I can buy two 2 liters for the price of that one cup. So aside from the liquid gold soda they provide the experience was 5/5 our server was attentive and helpful and very polite. The atmosphere was similar to a sports bar like Buffalo Wild Wings just on a smaller scale and way better food for a similar price. 4.5/5 recommend to friends family and anyone who wants some down right good...

This place looked like it had great potential with their fun food options but bad service is enough to make you never want to come back. When I arrived there was no one up at the front to seat us, once a girl had saw us she made us wait for her to reset a receipt roll in the front. Nothing was printed on this paper let me just point out but she felt that was more important to work on than to seat us. I didn't care at first because I thought ok maybe this was something needed for the business but then she doesn't even bother to apologize for the additional wait just seats us between two large groups of people (we were just a party of two). This girl was apparently also the waitress. We put in our appetizer and drink orders right away . I ordered one of their draft beers and it took over 30 minutes for me to get this beer, all the while I could see her refilling other tables buckets of beers over and over again. If I tried to call her attention she would pay me no mind. She had absolutely no empathy for bringing me my beer so late. When I got my food, there was a hair in it, probably because when she was bringing it to our table her hair was already close to our food. The waitress disappeared again though and didn't come back to our table to check on things for a while. By the time she came back I was so over the experience and just asked for the check.
