I have always liked Cracker Barrel first time the one in Crossville Tennessee cuz we just moved here a few months back walked into the restaurant one of the managers was very very friendly and right away recommended something that she enjoys but as we receive it I noticed all the Dust that is like a quarter inch thick all over the fixtures all over the pictures lights ceiling dust everywhere and you could see it in the light just falling down on everyone's heads and food very unclean doesn't look like it has been cleaned in years. The food was very heavy in oil we got the hash browns the deluxe kind and instead of putting the shredded cheese on it like they used to do and real fresh cheese they had a processed oil-based slab of cheese on top of their hash browns it was disgusting that cheese could have been more fake and in my experience with Cracker Barrel that's not how it's made and I'm a truck driver by trade for the last 35 years and I have seen many a Cracker Barrel in my day that's not how it's made. The coffee was bitter not very hot the water tasted old like the Taps needed to be cleaned the biscuits were so hard I could have used it for a baseball that we got was so rubbery we couldn't eat it and we sent it back this is not the epitome of Cracker Barrel this is the epitome of very cheap fake nasty food. Our waitress was very kind and she listened she understood just a sweetheart another one who had come around doing refills of drinks was as cross and bitter as she could be. I will not return to this Cracker Barrel it is filthy in there and I was very uncomfortable with all this dust flying in the air and looking how thick it was on all of the fixtures come on Cracker Barrel do better you're going to make...
Read moreIf possible, I would have given zero. I got to the restaurant and asked for a table for 14. The hostess said that wasn’t possible but they could put us at separate tables close together, which I said was fine. She then told me to reserve it on the app since my party wasn’t all there yet, I explained the app only allows to reserve up to 6. She said to just put down 6 and then when they called our name to say we have 8 more. When the rest of the party arrived my mom went to ask about the reservation and was met with the hostess calling me a liar and when we tried to reconcile the whole ordeal we waited over 2 hours and still did not get a table. Parties our size who got there after us were seated before us.
We were told our tables were being set and then watched as another party was taken ahead of us. Their story changed time and time again about why we weren’t ready to be taken back. This was after we were originally told a 15-20 minute wait and at this point it had been over 2 hours. The manager was kind, but the immaturity of the hostess was such a disappointment. We left because after 2 hours of waiting we were very hungry and had already talked to several people and nobody was helping out with the situation. Would not recommend solely because of the bad service and immaturity of the staff.
I understand Cracker Barrel does not take reservations but I arrived early and explained the situation and was told not to worry. I did not expect to be called a liar when the hostess was kind to me at first, but did a 180° when another member of my party just wanted to know about...
Read moreSolid 2-star establishment. Food is OK. The server we had was nice. Another server walking around came to our table to pick up a napkin our baby tossed on the floor. She made no effort to hide how annoyed she was by it. I spend my dining time attempting to eat, while entertaining my baby and constantly picking up everything he tosses on the floor. I didn't have the chance to pick it up before she came along, with a huff and eye roll. After eating, we went to the gift shop to pay for the meal and let our son pick out a toy. You have to pass a loss prevention lady that is announcing you're heading out to the cashiers. She's on a headset talking just loud enough for you to hear like she's a secret service agent. It's immediately awkward to enter the gift shop because the cashiers are watching you to make sure you don't leave without paying. We stood at the toy corner while my son decided between two different toys. It was maybe 5-7 minutes of deciding what he wanted. In that time, two different employees came and stood by us. Just standing there trying to not look like they were watching us. Awkward and annoying. We spent more in the gift shop than on our meal which made the whole experience extra irritating. This place needs to calm down on trying to police people. If someone isn't planning on paying for their meal, I don't think you're going to be able to stop them. It's way too intense for a meal experience and we won't be...
