We came to Carlos' for my son's 18th birthday. There were 11 of us at 6:30 p.m. On a Saturday night Memorial Day weekend. They so graciously accommodated our party and sat us immediately. The chips that they brought out with the salsa were warm and fresh and the salsa was fresh and not too spicy. We had kids in our party so the salsa not being spicy was important. The service was excellent. I feel bad because I never did get our servers name but he was super friendly, helpful, and good at what he does. He gave our party quite a bit of time and attention. The food came out pretty quickly. I had 2 steak tacos and a chicken taco as a part of the 3 taco dinner that also came with rice and beans. I had my tacos served on corn tortillas topped American and Mexican style which is comprised of lettuce, tomato, cheese, cilantro, and onion. The tacos were superb! I preferred the steak to the chicken after trying them both. And for the Grand finale the staff at Carlos' rocked the house over the loud speaker with a birthday song and the entire restaurant clapped along as it played and wished my son a Happy 18th Birthday that I'm sure he'll never forget and as his girlfriend said hopefully he doesn't get lice from wearing the sombrero 😁.

Great authentic Mexican fares. Prices are very reasonable for these days. Margaritas are hand shaken when upgrading tequila, which I highly suggest. Get tajin rim. Don't be dissuaded by the 'Pizza Hut' exterior or the difficult-to-navigate parking lot. I'd say the Saturday night we went, the clientele was about 50% Latino, which is a GREAT sign. Molcajete Chilos was excellent and highly recommended if you want a good cross-section of meats. Presented kinda like Fajitas at that tex-mex chain, except instead of a sizzling iron skillet, it is served in a sizzling hot molcajete. Chorizo, skirt steak, pork, chicken, and shrimp. Plenty enough to split between 2. We have had their Bisteca Diablo in the past and loved that, too as well as their Chili Rellenos. Friendly service, but sometimes left wondering where she was. Lighting could be improved upon. Its very bright inside. But really, you can just dim lights when you get home and eat here because it's really good food. The bathrooms are decently kept, but they're in the basement, so their handicap accessibility is nil. But that's a feature of the old building. Just go if you can, and experiment with a new dish. You'll be glad you did.

Came here for the first time with my wife and in-laws. Food was great! I had the taco dinner which came with 3 tacos (I got it with asada), and rice and beans. The rice and beans had flavor (sometimes some places it's hit or miss). The asada tacos had plenty of flavor and it was plentiful. Delicious! My wife had tostadas de ceviche de pescado which she liked. She also ordered the oysters and thought it was great as well. I'm not an oyster person but I'll take her word for it. My father-in-law also enjoyed the oysters. He also ordered the seafood soup and enjoyed it as well as the michiolada which he can be picky about. He definitely enjoyed it. My mother-in-law ordered the dinner plate that came with a Tamale, Chile reyeno, and enchilada. She liked it overall. She said the sauce on the enchilada was a little different than what she was used to but liked it. I believe the only thing she didn't like much was the Tamale. Other than that, we all enjoyed the food a lot. I'll definitely go back soon!

Definitely recommend this place for take but would not dine-in again. The food was good, decent portions came out in a timely manner, but the service was the worst I’ve had in a while. We got there with 5 tables already seated (2 of them paying) and 2 people at the bar. We were seated and given menus then the server said she’d be back, 5 minutes later she came back with chips and to tell us she’d be back in a few minutes okay?? About 5 minutes after that she returned and asked if we wanted to order anything to drink.. well yes I wanted to do that when we sat, okay no biggie we order drinks and food. 10 minutes later still no drinks, then she returned with my friends drink but not mine so I ordered a water cause the margarita was going to take a while. Finally my margarita came but no water then the food arrived. Well we still didn’t have silverware so I got up and asked for my water and silverware. After 2 minutes of waiting at the bar she handed me tortillas for my friend, well that’s great but I’m not actually trying to serve my own table I just need silverware and a water. I got 1 set of silverware because the rest was dirty so we needed to wait, still no water. Finally she returned with the water and another set of silverware about 10 min after our food had arrived. Then the bill we were overcharged so I went up to have it corrected and pay and there was an issue with the system and the customer ahead of me. No worries waited while they tried to sort it out about 5 min in to that the server went to go try a different register but stops with this customers card in hand to hug people that just walked in and are sitting at the bar.. like I’ve been in the industry for decades but this girl cared more about socializing then the customers and that was wrong. I would 112% recommend the food but save yourself the time and money and order carry out. And to be honest there was another server working who seemed to be very tentative to her customers I wish she would have served us but she did see the rest of us all waiting for our server and didn’t lift a finger to help at all so not sure what the dynamic is with staff but avoid it...

ordered through doordash. Ordered a cubana, a steak dinner (which is supposed to come with flour tortillas), guacamole and caso (caso is supposed to come with chips), a tamale and 2 horchatas. Dinner comes, no chips, no tortillas, no drinks, no tamale (restaurant claimed they didn't have any even though it's on their menu). Doordash took care of crediting the tamale, but I was still missing half our meal. Called to ask them why so much was missing, said we had to contact doordash to fix it. I asked why I had to go through doordash, they didn't do anything wrong, you messed up my order. After 5 minutes of arguing (and getting the phone passed around because apparently the owners can barely speak english), they finally agreed to deliver our missing food (even though they don't have delivery, which is why they use doordash). 30 minutes later they bring the steak dinner remade, another queso, the tortilla shells, the drinks.. Oh but the tortilla chips are STILL missing. What I don't get in all this, it's not like I phoned this in and they didn't understand me. I literally choose what I want in an app, and they get my order written in clear english so tell me how you mess up an order that badly. If you can't run a restaurant, get out of the business. Diners like burnt toast take dozens of orders every hour, and my food is ready in 10-15 minutes 100% correct.

As for the food: Cubana not bad, but steak was greasy Steak dinner had good flavor guacamole was decent but could use more salt Horchatas made right Queso had more meat than cheese, did not reheat...
