My husband and I enjoyed dining here for lunch yesterday and you place the order in the front then they bring your food to you at your table, a nice twist for any fast food place (Grill). It's a chain franchise and the seating is ample + comfortable. My husband had the Philly cheesesteak sub and I had the Gyro. Both were excellent: the Gyro meat was very flavorful and not overdone and the Tzatziki was very good (shredded cucumbers were visible). I'm giving it a 4 star for service for yesterday because we had NO idea about the lunch special until we returned today and our order-taker Ronda made sure to point out the lunch special to my husband, who ordered for us. Today we had 2 lunch specials which included the Philly cheesesteak subs, fries and a drink for $11 each. That was a great price for good food. Ronda brought our order to the table with a smile. I did LOVE their cheesesteak sub but the fries tasted frozen (but were NOT greasy, which was wonderful). Tomorrow I'm sampling the chicken wings (lunch special) and I loved that the lunch special isn't just Monday - Friday, like other places but it IS 7 days week. We've decided to eat here twice a week going forward so I'll be sampling every food item on their menu. I'll write as I taste each food item. So far, so good. Let's see how it does with the shrimp and other items and I may bump the food score to 5 Star and the Service to 5, depending on what I find. Great job, ANF Gyros & Grill. Crystal River denizens: DO give this place a try because it is definitely a BIG cut above the fast food joints...
Read moreIâve been to the one in Ocala before and it was decent for a drive-thru gyro. Thought Iâd try this one out today for lunch. I got the gyro and Cajun curly fries and my girlfriend got the fried fish and curly fries. It was all mid at best, wasnât awful, but just feels like okay-ish frozen bar food. Which is fine, but nothing was really crispy, and the flavor levels were fairly low. Gyro was again decent for a drive-thru gyro, tsatsiki could be a lil dill-ier. The fried fish was unfortunately not crispy and a bit rubbery, and the âCajun curly friesâ were soft and had hardly any flavor. Had the exact seasoning you would expect a basic curly fry to have. Anything you buy thatâs labeled âCajun seasonedâ should have a shaker of Cajun seasoning dusted over it. Otherwise, these are just âCurly fries.â But out of the unseasoned and not freshly fried, fried foods, my biggest disappointment today was seeing a Kenâs dipping sauce cup handed to me. This part is purely a personal preference and I do understand why a drive-thru would serve these, but maaaaan⌠I lose interest in a food chain when they donât have their own signature or in-house-made sauces. Spent $28 and some change on two moderately portioned combos. 3-stars because service was decent, sodas were cold, and the food will make a turd. Might come back sometime to try the Philly to see if itâs any good, but otherwise itâs just...
Read moreIâll start with the GoodâŚvery reasonable prices, friendly staff, the portions were large (definitely couldâve made 2 sandwiches with gyro meat), gyro meat was delicious and carved right off the spit, Tzatziki sauce very good, fries were ok (nothing to write home about), chicken sub delicious (fried version). Now the not so goodâŚ.fries melted to styrofoam container because there was no paper put down to prevent this, also soggy by the time I reached home (cut a small hole in container to prevent this), tomato and onion where soggy (almost cooked) because they were put on the bottom of the meat instead of on top and lettuce was also soggy and wilted but this can easily be fixed with a little thought, the place was not very clean, kitchen floor very dirty, dining area very dirty and rugâs filthy, service was pretty slow but I believe this is due to being under staffed. With some better quality control I would have given 5 stars. I will be returning and am looking forward to trying some another menu items. The price for 3...
