We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Juncal for the first time the other evening, and we’re still thinking about every single bite and sip. As devoted tequila enthusiasts, we were thrilled to discover their exceptional cocktail options. We sat at the bar and Kristen, crafted some delicious traditional margaritas. The Mezcal margarita was absolutely transcendent. Their creative tequila cocktails show real artistry and understanding of the spirit. Every single dish was a revelation. The pork dish(Sahuaro Chili Verde) was genuinely outstanding - perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The guacamole and salsa were impossibly fresh with just the right amount of heat that made you want to keep coming back for more. And that queso fundido? Hot, bubbling, and absolutely divine. My wife and I had a great dinner last night at Juncal Mexican Restaurant in Cumberland. We sat at the bar and were really impressed by the attentive service and welcoming atmosphere. The staff made sure we were comfortable from the moment we walked in.

My wife ordered the shrimp fajitas, and I had the blackened Arctic char—both dishes were flavorful, well-prepared, and delicious. The owners even came by twice during our meal to check in and make sure everything was to our satisfaction, which was a great personal touch.

Before visiting, I had read some of the online reviews and went in understanding that this is a brand-new restaurant. Like any new business, there may be some growing pains—but that’s normal. We believe it’s important to give local places like this a chance to work out the kinks instead of rushing to post negative reviews. If something’s not right, speak to the staff or management directly. They were incredibly approachable and clearly care about the customer experience.

Went here for the first time last night. Atmosphere and service were both great. Upgrades to the interior of the restaurant were really welcoming. Very bright inside compared to the previous restaurant that was there. The food was just ok. Ordered quesadillas. First batch was given to me in error. Chicken inside of that batch was very crunchy. They explained that I had been given the wrong order. They cooked up a replacement batch which by that time, I just decided to take it “to go”( my friend was almost finished with her chimichanga, which by the way was also a little disappointing but was edible). Fast forward to today…went to heat the quesadillas up for lunch and was really disappointed. Not much flavor and difficult to heat up. Sorry to say, don’t think I’ll be back...
