Bensu Asian Bistro — Restaurant in Cushing

The food was excellent! Who would have thought that you could get such delicious Asian food in the little oil town of Cushing. I seldom order salmon. Ordering it in a small-town Oklahoma restaurant seems really risky. This restaurant is highly rated and they serve sushi. I’m thinking they have to serve fresh fish. Oh man, the salmon and everything that was served, was fresh and flavorful. I had the salmon Hibachi. The best most flavorful salmon that I have had. Served with fresh crisp lightly grilled vegetables and fried rice. It came with a choice of salad or soup. The salad was fantastic. Simple fresh lettuce with a mayo soy sweet dressing. This is good. My wife had the Pineapple Fried rice with shrimp. This was amazing also. Big shrimp, cashews, vegies, pineapple chunks and a perfect amount of yellow curry seasoning. Awarded recognition from my wife as the “Best Asian Food in Oklahoma.” We started the meal with the Rich Appetizers. A sampling of the restaurant’s variety. A perfect way to start the meal. I haven’t been this excited about local food before! This place truly is a hidden Gem, to find exotic and delightful food so close to home about made my entire year! The service was extremely friendly, they brought the food out quickly and with great care, everything looked delicious before even taking a bite. Sushi is absolutely one of my favorite foods and Bensu did not disappoint, but don’t worry if you are into sushi they have one of the broadest menus I have seen ranging from hibachi to soups and everything in between. This place was absolutely disgusting. When we walked in it took forever for us to even be greeted and taken to our seats. Looking around I noticed that almost every table was dirty and there was a nasty bus cart just sitting right next to our table. Next we got our food, I got the Gummy Roll while my husband got the chicken hibachi. My roll was EMPTY, you could barely see the cucumber in it. The hibachi was bland with incredibly dry chicken.
