McLin's Restaurant — Restaurant in Daleville

I've been to Mclin's twice now and I have to say, the food is good, as for Daleville, this is probably the best place to eat, which isn't saying much.

When I first arrived I was greated by a smiling face and told that I could seat myself wherever I wanted. The decor in this place is definitely dated, but thats not why you're here. I sat down and was soon greeted by my waitress, who never introduced herself. She was quick to bring me a sweet tea and a pitcher was left on the table so refills were not a problem. This tea was strong and tasted like it had been sitting for a while. I placed my order. I ordered the ribeye which was labeled on the menu as "Mclin's Specialty" medium rare which came with a small salad, roll, and baked potato. My salad came soon, which I can understand why, bagged salad isnt hard to plate, along with two cherry tomatoes and two slices of cucumber, this is one of the most pitiful salads I've been served, but I digress.

I waited long enough to get bored for my steak and potato to be brought out by a totally different person than before. Mind you once my salad was served I never saw my waitress again unless she was helping one of the other patrons of which there were not many.

As the plate was sat down in front of me I could see the juices from the steak bubbling on the plate, which is always a sign of a good steak. I cut into the steak to see what everyone hates to see, my steak was overcooked, however the gentleman that served my plate was long gone and my waitress was no where to be seen. I noticed it was extremely tender and juicy so I ate the steak regardless of it being over cooked, and I can say that if it were properly cooked, I would have no complaints in the area of steak, it had a great sear on both sides and was tender enough to melt in your mouth. The potato was wrapped in aluminum foil and served with packaged butter and sour cream. It would have been nice to have the option to have this dressed up with some cheese and bacon, but again I digress. The potato was cooked well, no burnt bottoms like some other restaurants are known for. However there was no trace of seasoning on the outside of the potato.

I'll spare you the story of the frozen sister shubert roll that was almost crispy.

I had completed my dinner before I saw my waitress again, and that was for her to hand me my ticket. Which I then had to stand in line to wait to pay for. Roughly 36 dollars for this steak dinner. You decide if...

Truly a wonderful establishment. Family run and very ma and pa styled restaurant. The food is always phenomenal and delicious. You get the bang for your buck.

Their ribeye is mouthwateringly good, it’s always cooked perfect and seasoned well when we’re there. We get it cooked medium rare and it’s hands down the best steak anywhere I’ve had. Melt in your mouth delicious.

Their fried chicken is heavenly. The breading on it is crispy while the meat remains perfectly soft and juicy, the seasoning is the cherry on top to its perfection. I can’t eat the full order by myself so I tend to get the half plate or I split the full one with someone else.

The hushpuppies are an experience all in themselves, please try them out if you’re fond of a good hushpuppy.

The rolls are like no other. Warm, fluffy, buttery, and the perfect little add on to the meal’s experience.

Their baked potatoes are scrumptious, a little butter and a dash of salt make it perfect.

Their coca-cola’s are wonderful to have after a bite. My brother is fond of their sweet tea, they have an unsweetened option too!

While I don’t have a picture of them their onion rings are to die for! Just delicious. Their homemade ranch pairs wonderfully with it. And their crab claws are also a family favorite.

If you want to support local, this is the place to go. It’s tasty, it’s family run, and it’s simply just a good place to go for a filling...

I didn't originally know what to think about this place as I pulled in, but I left pleasantly surprised. I arrived to Daleville/Fort Rucker on business to find that Daleville didn't have many choices and it wasn't a real desirable town. McLin's got good reviews and had lots of cars there. It's kind of confusing when you walk in. You walk into a lobby with what appears to be a kitchen off of that room. You can't see any dining areas. No one was in the lobby to greet me; so, I just went to the right. As i walked down a hall, I noticed i was in a room with full tables and small rooms with tables and people at them. It looked fairly full, and I didn't see a server to ask where to sit. I turned around and went back to the lobby to find a younger gentlemen now standing in the lobby. He directed me to the opposite direction where the 'dining hall' was located. It was just a big room with a bunch of tables. The menu is mostly fish, chicken, or seafood. I got the jumbo shrimp. My food was delicious. My server was pretty friendly too. As I paid back out in the lobby, an older gentleman thanked me for my business. I'd recommend this place. My only critique would be to maybe put up a sign that directs you where to go or make sure you have a...
