I ordered the Jamaica fried chicken, it comes with a small piece of chicken breast on some fried rice with three vege sides - mashed potatoes, fried okra, beets were my choices.

The chicken breast was of rather small size, half of a normal sized chicken breast I would say. Seasoning was ok (our waiter emphasized it’s very spicy, but emm.. yeah it’s better than bland) texture is like freeze-dried chicken breast got half rehydrated.

Fried okra made me doubt if my taste buds were still working at all. Beets were.. boiled I guess. The mashed potato was normally ok, but def the best thing happened for this dinner.

My friend got pot roast, I tried, that piece of meat got that last piece of soul simmered out of her, canned cat food looks more juicy and delicious than that, also, I would think they forgot to season it instead of intentionally leaving it bland like that, cause serve unseasoned food is considered a bad gesture for a restaurant no?

For desert I got blackberry cobbler, it’s some boiled blackberry, one piece of toast and a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream. Not ideally what I had in mind for a cobbler but at least it’s good.

We were seated in between two families with babies. Both happened to trust in laissez-faire parenting. Sweet lord Jesus, both parties had one hungry singer on the table singing at the top of their lungs for whatever reason. I happened to made a one-second eye contact with the young lady in front of me (another table) when she was checking out the two divas next to us. I think I can feel her pain through those confused eyes.

This place was recommended by a friend and I thought of trying it out before I move. I guess I just don’t have very good luck when it comes to dining out, I should’ve ordered fried chicken steak and asked to be re-seated outside, it was lovely Dallas autumn weather. But here we’re, I’d say this is the worst dining experience I’ve had thus far for 2023.

And I def didn’t expect to have such bad dining experience at a restaurant with a large number of high rating reviews on google map. Black...

I don't know what all the hype is about. The concept is good and maybe it was great at one point but it's time has passed. The owners aren't maintaining the place. There is a difference between rustic and run down. This is run down. They keep it dark so you don't notice the stains and issues.

The service was horrible. The waitress was scattered and acted like she didn't want to be there. Others around us complained and she barely paid attention. It took 20 minutes to get our drinks, not because they were busy, but because she just forgot and had to be reminded.

We got our first course of fruit (some it was starting to sour) and a soup that was pretty bland and cold. After being there for almost an hour, we were so frustrated that we were getting ready to leave. When we told the waitress that we were leaving she told us that our food was ready and sitting in the window. We expressed that we didn't want cold food and were assured it wasn't. We were still willing to give it a chance. She brought the food. I touched the turkey and it was cold and rubbery, the chicken on my husband's plate looked burnt and the family style side dishes were wrong. We had to tell her the sides were wrong and she had to look at the ticket to figure out we were right. It looked so unappetizing that we were not staying around for them to fix it or taste it.

We left cash on the table to cover the drinks and first course and left. In the parking lot, a man started calling out to us. He didn't introduce himself, looked dishelved and was asking us why we are leaving. It was alarming enough that my husband turned around and walked back to step in between us because he wasn't sure who the guy was. We guessed the guy was a manager of some kind since he had a check in his hand. I'm not sure what he hoped to accomplish but we told him the service was horrible and after seeing the food (not eating it) that we left enough money to cover that we did consume and would...

Celebration has hosted many a family dinner for four generations in our family over the years, most recently for a weeknight dinner with me and my parents. Our server Jackson was attentive, knowledgeable, and just a generally pleasant person. The iced tea was very fresh and my glass was never less than half full, with more ice added on every refill. All of the breads are delicious, my mom prefers the jalapeno cornbread, my favorite are the blueberry muffins, and my dad prefers the more traditional white bread biscuit/rolls. It’s nice that we can each get more of what we want! My dad and I ordered from the daily specials menu, the pork chop with cherry mostarda and southwest chicken. My husband ordered the pot roast and my mom the chicken fried steak. We ordered spinach, fried okra, and mashed potatoes for our sides. The sides are served family style, but you can have seconds on these, and even change sides if you like. We were too full, as this was plenty of food for the four of us on the first course! The atmosphere is charming with remnants of nostalgia in the pictures and wall hangings, and the little enclaves, or smaller dining rooms, really make it feel like you’re eating dinner at home, just out with other people. We’ll be back for sure, thank you for your consistent service and delicious locally...

Nostalgic location for my family. We've been dining here since the early 70's. Chicken St. Caroline, Meatloaf w/ mushroom gravy; Chicken Fried Chicken; Chicken Fried Steak; Pot Roast; Pecan Crusted Chicken; mashed potatos; corn; squash; salad and the phenomenal home-made dressings: blue cheese & cucumber. A basket of jalapeño cornbread, dinner rolls, walnut & blueberry muffins, come to the table first. Then a huge bowl of fresh green salad and the best salad dressings ever! And served with the fresh, crisp salad, are home-made croutons. Then comes the entrées. I ordered something I was craving - Meatloaf. Celebration Meatloaf has two options of sauce. One of course is tomato based. The second option is mushrooms in a wine sauce, and it is fantastic! I packed half of my entrée for home, and ordered dessert - the delish coconut cream pie, topped with toasted coconut. Mmmmm, wonderful! With precious "To-Go" containers, I am a happy and fully satisfied diner. BTW: Prices are great! The wine list carries Earthquake, and it was perfect. We thoroughly enjoyed another wonderful evening at Celebration. Thanks for the memories - new & old!
