Dickey's Barbecue Pit — Restaurant in Dallas

My wife and I went and had lunch today with my son. Dickey’s was in close proximity of my son’s job so we chose it. We have had some not so great experiences with other Dickey’s BBQ locations. Specifically the location in downtown Dallas. But we decided to give this one a chance. We arrived a little early to hopefully beat the lunchtime rush. Luckily there was no line and plenty of seating. We walk up and my wife placed her order. My son and I wanted the same this. Two large bakers with chopped beef. The potatoes were HUGE. We get our food and sit down to eat. So far so good. The food tasted pretty good. Most chain restaurants food taste the same because they’re all from the same place. Before we left I went to use the facilities. OMG they were disgusting. Only one working toilet and the other had caution tape all around it like it was some sort of bathroom crime scene. If I would have seen that before I ordered we would have left. Luckily we didn’t. I’m giving it a four even though the bathroom looked like a CSI crime scene because the food was good and the restaurant was pretty cleanish. Hopefully it’s just a temporary thing and it gets taken...

I purchased the two meat plate for $12.25 back in April. The BBQ sauce is pretty good, IMO. Not the best I've had but I definitely give it an A. The brisket has some bark on it which is fine but the brisket itself was pretty tasteless and somewhat dry. The spicy cheese sausage is only ok. The same item at Babbs Bros is like 10x better. The green beans and bbq beans were both fine (don't expect any incredible sides).

Overall, I'd say if you are in the immediate area then check this place out. Otherwise, I'd probably go elsewhere. BTW, I actually liked the interior of this place. Looked better...

I want to send a HUGE THANK YOU from Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity to the Dickey's team for saving the day. We had our company Thanksgiving Day meal scheduled for today and the BBQ vendor that we initially booked lost our order. I was devastated as I has 112 employees that needed to be fed today. I called up Dickey's and the staff was able to accommodate what we wanted on short notice and the food was GOOD!!! Thanks you soooooo much for saving the day!
