(Oct 2023) finally made it back, been wanting to come back, and was as good as I remembered. Tried the Tamales Veracruz style with pork. Pork had really nice flavor, masa of the tamale was a lot lighter/fluffier than others I’ve had. Salsa was good as very spicy lol the cochinita pibil tacos are hands down my favorite here but really enjoyed the other things we got - mixed plate of picaditas (the red salsa one is really good, also includes mole, a verde salsa, beans and cochinita on the others). Also got the barbacoa de borrego tacos (only on weekends) - excellent. They take card but give a 5% discount for cash. Excellent spot (Dec 2022) Loved it here! 4 options for tacos, we tried al pastor, cochinita pibil and carne asada (they also have tripe). Really enjoyed all the tacos and would get them again but the cochinita was my favorite, great flavor and juicy, tender meat. Also got an order of the picaditas (5 for $15), each came with a different topping, the rojo salsa was the favorite followed by the mole sauce and cochinita, then the black been/queso and then the verde salsa. But you can’t order just one picadita, you can only get the variety platter but I enjoyed the different flavors. I very much enjoy ordering picaditas on the beach in Mexico topped with black beans and queso, it’s my favorite snack and you can get like 3 or 4 of them for like 30 pesos (aka $1.50), but for not being in Mexico, I enjoyed the ones here. Was able to easily get a space out front on a Sunday, but backing up can be tricky cause it’s a semi busy street. There’s a few booths where you can order to eat there or you can get take out, I saw some of both. They’ve got sodas and water available but no Agua frescas.

I had been dying to try this place for like 8 months, and recently I finally got the chance to stop by their West Dallas location. I first want to say this is not a Tex-Mex restaurant nor is it your typical authentic Mexican food restaurant or taco spot. Limon's specializes in AUTHENTIC street food from Veracruz. The 2nd thing I want to say is it's going to take me multiple trips and multiple posts to truly showcase this place. It's that good. Literally almost every single thing on their menu is post worthy, and I truly mean that. It might be my new favorite Mexican spot. If you can't take my word for it, Dallas Observer named them one of the 100 must try restaurants of 2020 and one of the top 50 restaurants. Their empanadas are rated #1 on Yelp Dallas! This trip, we kept it pretty simple just so we could get a decent sample. I got the Combinado Jarocho which came with 2 empanadas (we recommend chicken), an egg with salsa verde, picadas jarochas, and refried black beans. I also had to try their Tamales Veracruzanos, which came beautifully wrapped in a banana leaf. Trixie got the Gorditas Veracruzanos with chicken. It was stuffed in what looked like a puffed and deep fried corn tortilla topped with lettuce, tomato, avocado, cheese and sour cream. They also kindly sent out a couple of tacos out for us to try. The al pastor was excellent, but that conchita pibil was the winner for me.

Ok I'm going to level with you and this is no exaggeration, this is the best Mexican food in DFW people!! Wow.... so good, everything was so good. NOTHING WAS LESS THAN ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!! I am extremely opinionated about my food and I only want to find the best and here it is. Also the young man who was at the cash register was super friendly and spoke english well which means he can help you decide on what to eat. I started with free tamales he offered us to try, maybe because of my good cash tip. These were ultra fresh and so soft that even though the meat filling was minimal, it was still amazingly light and fluffy, not dense. Next I ordered a mixture of Garnachas which I never heard of but the taste was familiar but awesome. Also had a mixture of gorditas or something like that, to be honest many of these dishes are similar in nature, just slightly different but they're all 100% amazing. The refried beans were as good as any i've ever eaten. I also got the consomme which was awesome, a bit gamey but I think that's traditional. The only thing I was not totally thrilled with was the salsas, they were good but not as amazing as the food. The green sauce was more like tomatillo instead of fresh jalapeno flavor.
