Ruthi Hutson Cakes — Restaurant in Dallas

I can not say enough wonderful things about Ruthi!!! Not only is her talent OUT OF THIS WORLD, despite stating on social media she was busy and may take a little to respond to emails, she answered me super quick. My daughter got married in October and hired Ruthi to be her cake vendor. I wanted to surprise Hannah and my son-in-love with cat themed cookies. They had a cat theme all through the wedding so this was the perfect sweet surprise. Ruthi not only agreed, despite being super busy, she did exactly what I had requested, delivered two amazing cakes and fabulous cookies (super yummy too). She even sent me photos of the cookies (unwrapped) in case the photographer didn't take them out before photographing them. I'm soooo blessed she sent me the photos (totally not even a thought in my mind) for several reasons! It was one of the special parts of the day and I even have amazing photos of them to boot! So many vendors will ignore the MOB, only talk to the bride/groom and essentially give bad customer service because MOB isn't the "contracted" client. I've been a photographer for over 13yrs and while I get it, treating the MOB badly isn't smart. Ruthi did the exact opposite and not only made me feel important, she beyond delivered and made me feel loved and heard. It was cool that she got excited about doing them too. Ruthi, thank you, thank you, thank you for being such a blessing! I know we don't live very close but any bride and groom I can send your way, I will. I will forever...

The cakes of my DREAMS!!! I knew I wanted a palette knife floral cake. I was obsessed with the photos of her work and did a tasting with her and one other baker. She was super flexible with me on the tasting as I lived out of state. I was hoping so badly Ruthi’s cakes tasted better than the other bakery since I loved her designs, and Ruthi’s tasting was so good it wasn’t even close. I found Ruthi to be responsive, flexible (as ideas, guest count, etc. change), and so talented. For the bridal cake, I gave her the style and the colors and let her have creative freedom. For the groom’s cake, I gave her a specific inspo pic and she executed perfectly. She also offered free delivery to my venue so that was a bonus!...

Ruthi was amazing from start to finish. I had seen her palette knife floral cakes and knew that was exactly what I wanted for my wedding cake. I told her our colors and the style of floral I preferred and gave her free reign for design. The end result was stunning. She also did a wonderful job on the grooms cake (an Xbox with the Halo game sitting on top). Flavors were amazing (brides cake being amaretto w/ espresso buttercream, grooms cake was Dr. Pepper w/ cream cheese frosting). We had multiple people rave about the flavors and that the cake was stunning. Additionally, our parents surprised us with cookies that had cat silhouettes and florals.
