My first experience at Tacolicious was good. Good priced, tasty tacos. Not the best definitely not the worst. The sauces were good. The second experience was whole different story. My partner went to Tacolicious to get us some breakfast tacos. She ordered 2 chorizo, potato, egg, and cheese tacos, and ordered 2 steak, egg, bean, and cheese tacos for me. The woman behind the counter stated they wouldn't be able to provide the steak at this time. While my we were on the phone to update my order the employee changed her mind and confirmed they were able to make my desired tacos. 3 minutes after we hung up I got a text saying they "changed their minds again", saying the only way they can do it is if I buy a steak taco..... Spoon some eggs, cheese, and beans on there and charge me extra. Nope. My GF ordered some bacon, egg, and cheese for me in place to which I called and cancelled, I'd rather eat at home at this point. My GF's tacos were made with the ingredients that she requested, so they say. It looked like they put them in a blender, poured them into a tortilla, and sprinkled some cheese on top. When I called and said they forgot the potatoes (as it appeared) the employee said, "how can you tell, they are like mush.". She couldn't taste anything specific and her closest description was, "like eating breakfast taco flavored yogurt.". No thanks. My opinion, stay away at breakfast time and if your really close by and want tacos at lunch go for it. P.S. I...
Read moreWe ordered the lengua, barbacoa, carnitas, and beef fajita tacos. The beef fajita wasn't that great but evrything else was amazing. The carnitas were so juicy and packed full of flavor, definitely one of my favorite spots. The lengua is not as chewy as some other places, but it was still very delicious and the flavors were very complex. By far our favorite protein here was the barbacoa. Barbacoa is a pretty difficult protein to find in tacos so we were very excited to try it when we got here and we were not disappointed. The meat was juicy and flavorful, would highly recommend.
The staff were very friendly and the customers were clearly regulars, which speaks to how delicious the tacos are here. The seating area in the restaurant is ample with fun picnic style benches scattered throughout the...
Read moreWe are from Waco staying over the weekend here in Dallas. Woke up wanting some good tacos & not the commercial kind. Let me just tell ya that we will ALWAYS come back to this place when we visit. The salsa was soooooo good I had to buy a 20 0z fountain drink FULL of it, lol. I had a taco & my husband had a burrito with chips, guacamole, & salsa. Everything was delicious. The tortillas, corn & flour alike, are fresh made...the way it should be. The guacamole had great flavor. We usually doctor ours a bit due to it typically being just straight up mashed avocado, but theirs needing nothing. It was beyond perfect. If you are a true Texas taco connoisseur.... YOU...
